Great product at a great price

Tailgate pillars are exactly as described and fit my 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe perfectly. They arrived quickly and were easy to assemble. It only took me about five minutes to swap out the old racks for the new ones. Most other vendors charge you the same amount per rack. Some sellers have said their racks are stiff, making the sunroof difficult to close. These struts are a bit stiffer than the old ones, but I blame the wear and tear on the old struts. Great product at a great price.

Pros
  • practical item
Cons
  • not bad

Should have done this sooner

Bought this kit for my 2008 SLR Santa Fe. Opened the tailgate and used a fiberglass telescopic pole for extra support while working. Using a small flathead screwdriver, loosened the retaining clips and tapped lightly with a rubber mallet to remove the old hydraulics. The new one just clicked into place. Repeat for the other side and bam! Ready in less than 5 minutes! Now the tailgate opens as quickly and fully as it did when it was new, and all at a reasonable price - a good deal!

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • The list goes on.

Perfect replacement in Hyundai

Banging your head on the tailgate gets annoying very quickly. Especially when it gets worse in winter. I replaced both luggage racks on my 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe with these - cheaper than one at my local green auto parts store. flat screwdriver, then the ends of the old racks are slightly pushed out. Take the new stand and slide it into place. Make sure you have a support to hold the tailgate when you remove the old support - they are heavy!

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • New competitors have appeared

No more front dents

These luggage racks are extremely easy to assemble. In less than 5 minutes, use a small screwdriver to remove the clips on the OEM units (support the lift door first), they simply snap into place, done. They are slightly stronger than the OEM so the tailgate opens fully, however as lift increases the force required to close the tailgate increases. My wife is 105 pounds and can close it but it takes a little effort. Unfortunately, they're made in China, so I expect them to blow up and blow off…

Maxpow Compatible with Hyundai Santa Fe Lifting Gate Bars work better than the original. I removed a post by removing 2 clips (one behind each pin on the frame) and separating each end of the post from the mounting ball; I cleaned each of the two ball studs and then applied some chassis grease to each ball; put some chassis grease in the holes at each end; and planted each end on the corresponding sphere of the frame; Then I took the rod out of the hatch, opened and closed the hatch 4 times; I…

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
