worth every penny Best in Kitchen & Dining

I bought this because I grill breast and after smoking not only need to cut a huge flat piece of meat but also need to trim off some of the fat cap first (but doesn't everything) Ideally leave 1/4 inch of fat, a sharp long flat knife is required. This item is perfect! And sharp! Like a sword, you'll be amazed at how sharp this thing is, guts through tough fat and skin like butter. I don't normally review anything, but for $35 this item was great!

The stick is damaged by a large bend in the blade

He likes to cook breast. I was very excited that he opened the knife and used it when we ate brisket for Christmas dinner. He opened the knife and was so excited to use it. He took it out of the box to clean it and it had a huge blade curve! I took photos to show how defective it was when we took it out of the box. He and I were both very disappointed with the product.

No grill master can do without this knife.

Barbecue is everywhere here in Texas. They are as popular as Starbucks. And at any decent BBQ spot you can watch as the brisket, sausage or ribs are sliced to order. And that's the kind of knife they use. I often cook my own charcoal grill. This is one of my passions. There's nothing more satisfying than taking that damn knife and slicing a breast right out of the smoker. That is delicious. And this is how you carve it. Five stars.

The sharpest knife I've ever had; for about 10 meals.

Ergonomics/grip/maneuverability are basically three ways to do the same thing. Why didn't you ask about sharpness? This HELLA knife is sharp. I haven't cut myself cooking in 25 years and I cut my finger twice in one day with this villain. Supposedly blunt knives are more dangerous. This is the knife that dull knives turn to when they need to cut someone. Bad blade handle. I used it for 2 rib sticks, 1 brisket, 1 ham, about six sausages, and about six pounds of cheese. It's getting boring.

Finally bought one.

I've wanted one for a long time and this Christmas season I finally said 'F*it' and ordered one. You can tell it was an impulse buy just because I wanted it but never bought it - I don't know why. Anyway, bought and received just in time for Christmas dinner, for which I usually cut up the rib roast. Much easier than my usual chef's knife I've used, I have to say. Oh, before I forget, I don't think I've ever used a slicer before. With that in mind, I find the slicer makes it easier/better to…

Great buy for a cheaper carving knife.

So I think when you buy a carving knife you don't have to invest in an expensive knife. Chef's knives are a different story. A carving knife, on the other hand, is made to make long, continuous cuts through meat. You don't use it to cut through bone (at least if you know how to cut), so strength isn't usually an issue. This is a monstrous 14 inch blade with a durable plastic handle. The blade is razor sharp. Effortlessly cuts meat. The blade has grooves that make it easier to cut through the…

The perfect slicer. to bread knife

If you've never had a long knife for slicing roast beef, then this will change your life. The price is amazing, it's very sharp, and the ridges on the blade itself help it glide over the meat. In short, the extra-long blade (you'll be shocked how long it won't fit in most standard drawers) allows you to make a one-way pass to slice through meat to minimize the pressure on you. Place the meat inside, avoiding the back and forth motion of sawing. So what's wrong with sawing back and forth? Maybe…

Great knife, worst delivery ever!

To be fair the knife itself is VERY good - how should I know? I previously bought one as a gift for a friend. All of the great things in the other reviews are spot on. I have a delivery problem. It was ordered on December 28th as it was away from my home for a New Year's Eve event. After I gave it up I had to go back to cancel the 4 day delivery - day 2 was critical. Then I get a notification that it won't be delivered until January 3rd - BEAUTIFUL! On January 3rd I receive the sheaths included
