Towing Beast good for shocks, struts and suspension

Best thing I could do. I often tow my 2001 commuter 1/2 ton 2wd. I feel it and upload the trailer. A little sag even with a 2k payload and 6-8k on a trailer. It's a little tight under load, but that doesn't bother me. Raised maybe 1/2 inch in the back. I installed Bilstein shock absorbers in the front. The best combination, especially if I increase the tire size a bit.

  • Great overall performance

  • Safety

Doesn't help with loads

If you are looking for a good shock absorber to ride around town, feel comfortable and soft, this is the perfect shock absorber for you with 100% guarantee. If you plan to tow a small trailer or a boat, UTV, etc. I would not recommend Monroe shocks. After installing shocks on my 2000 Suburb I used it for daily driving and the shocks have been great. When I hooked up my 16-foot UTV trailer and added some weight, my commuter car immediately started sagging. The coil spring around the shocks…

Yes when towing boats or trailers for added stability and weight

This was a massive improvement over the broken air dams in our 2003 Yukon Denali. No more rattling doors on rough roads! The biggest problem with installing stock shocks on air actuated Denalis is that the factory springs are softer than regular Yukons. This adjustment ensures that the dampers are stiff enough to avoid changing springs. My guess is that on a Yukon or Suburban that doesn't come with factory air springs, the ride might be a bit stiffer when combined with stiffer factory springs…

Perfect fit for my 2005 Yukon XL

First I bought these for my 2005 GMC Yukon Denali XL. It had air suspension, but I was tired of fixing it, so I tried to find an alternative. I used coil springs and Bilstine dampers at first, which was a nice ride, but adding significant weight to the rear caused sag. After some asking, someone told me about these coilover/strut type shock absorbers. These works are amazing! They snapped right in and were much stronger and more supportive than the shocks alone. If you're thinking of adding…

Raised my Yukon by about 0.5 " and helped with the tractor

Easy to install (this is not a feature of the product but the result of being just a two bolt shock absorber and a easy access to the vehicle), I really had to use a long pry bar to wiggle/push the underside of the shock. The shock itself is very good quality, stiffer than my smooth Zw7 shocks (not surprising) but not the ribbed concrete disc, still rides well and bounces over bumps a bit. I almost wish it was a little stiffer to prevent further sagging, but I may have to look into airbags if I

2004 Chevy Tahoe 2wd

Extremely easy to install BUT I installed a 6 inch lift kit and didn't have a jack for that height. Paid $200 in store (regular store price would be $350 with stock shocks installed) so it was a lot cheaper even with labor outsourced. . But when nothing tows, they are AMAZING. Out of the box, perfect for everyday wear, not crazy at all but not customized yet. I'll probably give it 4-6 handles when towing my boat. This makes the adjustment point the perfect place to set and fine-tune stiffness…

Nice rear suspension update for 2006 Suburban 1500

It's time to replace the shock absorbers on my 2006 Suburban. I've been using it more for towing/moving things and towing a small trailer lately, so I decided to look for a damper that offers a little more stiffness without being too harsh and without breaking the budget . After doing a little research and reading other reviews of these shock absorbers, I decided to give it a try. They certainly look impressive compared to a traditional gas strut. The rear seems a bit higher than before, but I…
