Great, but no hardware.

Dampener looks solid and of excellent quality. The hardware appears to be good but the nut does not fit when fitted. You can slide or pull the nut over the threads and you can't tighten it enough to hold the other mount in place, causing the shock to wobble and loosening the nut, potentially damaging the shock. Seller, please contact me regarding this. Ok update 10/7 no contact for my problem. Excellent customer service NO. Dampener works great.

Great replacement for the original Jeep WJ steering stabilizer

I have a '02 Jeep WJ that I installed a 2.5" body lift on and ended up with a slight death wobble which is quite annoying became. I changed the stabilizers. and lever and it didn't matter. This small update to the steering stabilizer fixed the whole issue AND improved my steering response. There was a bit of rust on the non slip end but other than that it was perfect and took about 15 minutes to install with the right tools. You don't have to delete anything to access it. +

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Some minor issues

Better than expected!

My 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee was rocking right front when it hit a bump. I researched high end brands and settled on Monroe/Tenneco #SC2962. Much larger in diameter than the bearing block, which was a 1" block (if that). Got a download for it, all installed in minutes (at lunchtime) and on the way home. Without hesitation! Very impressed here. I have a 2 1/2" lifter with A/T tires, nice and tight front end with all new front and rear stabilizer bar mounting bushes, spring pads, good pivot points

Jeeps NEED this steering stabilizer!

Quick and easy installation - all you need is a 15mm socket and/or combination wrench. The Monroe SC2962 is significantly larger in diameter than the original part and has a larger piston. It has all-weather fluid and a 1/2 inch diameter carburized shaft. Supplied with assembly plan and NUT, BOLT and GASKET. DOWNLOAD NOT included. The image on the left shows a stock Mopar shock (made in Japan) next to a (made in USA) Monroe SC2962. The image at right shows the Monroe muffler on a 2000 Jeep…

Tenneco/Monroe damper

Got a Tenneco steering damper. I think I would hesitate to buy this product if it was described as a Tenneco and not a Monroe. Monroe is on the packaging, but not on the damper. I see other reviews saying they got the same product and it works fine? I'm not sure of the legality of this article, but the dampener is poorly applied and updated product information is provided. Also, as many other reviews state, the nut is sticky so I put some WD 40 on the nut and threads. There will be an update…

Two thumbs up for the steering system

My 2001 Grand Cherokee needed a replacement tie rod, tie rod, tie rod, tie rods (4), sway bar links (2) and sway bar dampers so after a lot of research and reading I settled on the Moog -Product line with Monroe Stabilizer Shock and SA1997 case. My two main deciding factors were: 1. Quality2. PriceMoog outperformed both. I found it very good that the bushings are already pressed in or mounted on the parts to be replaced. The only thing I really needed to do extra was thread a Zerk nipple into…
