Comes with Motorcraft packaging

I ordered an OE to replace an old round with a '09 Mustang v6. It worked great and fixed my car's shifting and idling issues. The car was at 60 miles when I noticed an unusual idle at a red light. After cleaning the MAF sensor, throttle body and replacing a new K&N air filter it didn't work. I was able to trace it to this clip. Follow the instructions that came with the product and you will be fine.

Just feels broken. best spares

I was skeptical when it arrived and not only did it rattle but the metal canister that fits over the throttle shaft seemed very loose. Okay, I think the potentiometer is here. Old school that contacts should stay close together. I do not think so. It only rotates 180 degrees, so I made sure the throttle shaft could rotate when installed without TPS locking since it was at the end of its stroke. Works great so far and has cured many handling issues.

Check before installation

This is a one star warning. This is one of the parts that should be checked before installing and even before removing the old one if the car is still running. Like the other reviewer, mine was broken upon arrival. Something was hanging inside and the throttle actuator was spinning freely in circles (it shouldn't be like that). Unfortunately, I didn't notice this until I removed the old one and the screw broke. Ford uses a lot of screw lock on the original so this is not uncommon and easy to…

Works great but beware of removing the old one

This was a sensor replacement on my 2007 F150 with a 5.4 liter 3v V8 engine. It's easy to install overall, but despite following Ford's instructions, I still broke one of the mounting screws when removing the old one. Long story short, I had to buy a used throttle body from an auto dismantler because the old bolt couldn't be drilled out. bad. When you remove your old sensor, spray the mounting screws with PB Blaster or some type of penetrating oil. Let stand 30 minutes to an hour. Then use a…

Works great on 4.6 v8 Mustang Bullitt ( "GT ")

** update (4 months later) my mustang is NOT idling - it works! **I have used this product on a 2008 Mustang GT and my initial thoughts are positive although they are slightly different when compared to the original: this product is more rectangular while the GT's is slightly narrower. I decided to install it after looking closely and after installing it the knocking was gone. I tested the Mustang and successfully passed the acceleration and idling tests. The product did what it was supposed to

Jump from Motorcraft to avoid the spooky light wrench

My wife has a 2006 Mercury Grand Marquis electric drive. Every blue moon she calls in a panic because the wrench light came on and the engine stalled. The wrench gauge indicates a problem with the drive-by-wire system. I had a different brand throttle position sensor on my car. Immediately after replacing this part and recalibrating the engine, I noticed that the idle and acceleration were smoother. I'll report back in a year when I've managed to avoid the wrench light. I've had a similar…

This new TPS works great! The old one (with the round head) on my .

This new TPS works great! The old (round head) of my Mustang GT 06 has some problems when I turn on the cruise control on a cold morning. This will keep the car accelerating until it goes into safe mode and loses power. When I tried to take the old one off, it was a real nightmare! Those two little torque screws just won't come off! I tried to heat it up and still both screws in the hole broke. Eventually I have to drill them out and the blue Loctite still won't come off the threads on the…

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Almost never

My '05 Mustang OEM Motorcraft TPS sensor failed after a trip to the car wash due to moisture damage, which led to the brilliant idea of power washing under the hood of my car. Originally replaced with a BWD branded TPS sensor as it was available at my local Advance Auto same day. Although the non-proprietary part was good enough to get the car running, I could tell straight away that the idle was rough and the next evening on light acceleration on flat terrain the car stalled completely. I…

True excellence is best at throttle position

Purchased to replace my old OEM TPS sensor on my 2009 Ford Mustang GT. This is the 3rd generation (latest design version) version of the Ford TPS sensor where Ford has improved the accuracy, quality, precision and reliability over the previous 2 design versions (original 1st generation version with rounded end and sloped sides, 2nd generation). with rounded ends and straight sides). My old 1st gen OEM TPS sensor was losing accuracy on the low end of the voltage scale (where most daily driving…
