Totally broken on arrival

I received the first one and it wouldn't let me log in, it didn't even project a login signal and when we contacted support they provided us with a replacement AND THIS HAS TA THE SAME FUCKING PROBLEM. Never buy a refurbished modem for children. It is not worth.

Netgear Nighthawk is good for network products

The Netgear Nighthawk cable modem worked great. Easy setup. Make sure you use the modem's password to access it. I think some of the reviews listed prior to my purchase might be because I wasn't able to set it up properly. I've had it for over a month with no problems. Works perfectly. Same internet speed but much better modem than before. The difference shows. The difference between day and night. I was not paid to review or write this.

Bad experience

I would stay away from refurbished items. You save some money but you also have a chance of getting 2 bad modems/routers just like me. The first worked for 2 weeks, the second for about 5 weeks. The reason for this disappointing experience is that the second modem was already registered to someone else (based on what Netgear support told me when I called them) and was out of warranty. Long story short, I called Revain and even the tech support rep knew about these issues. I have a question: why

Easy to set up. The Xfinity installer approved the modem very quickly.

Most of the time the modem works fine. Today while I was working on the computer, the wireless network signal disappeared. Looked at my phone and got it! next to the WiFi icon, which means the internet may not be available. The weird thing is that the Echo Dot played music through all of the issues. The modem works great out of the box. I live in a small apartment and get great signals in every room. Testing the signal on my Fire TV devices, I get close to 170-190 Mbps on each test. I wouldโ€ฆ

Administrator password is not reset on upgrade

This is an updated product that appears to have been used before. Unfortunately, this also meant Amazon didn't factory reset the device and the admin password wasn't set by default. This in turn blocked me from the router and did not allow me to control the functionality of the router/modem. After checking with Amazon tech support, they recommended returning the unit and ordering another one, which I did. If the next one has the same problem, I discard the "updated" option and choose the newโ€ฆ

Great machine, but no.

I have been renting a modem/router from our cable company for 5 years from 2014 for $10 a month! within 5 years. Do the math. Finally, I pulled out one of the cable TV bills my wife was paying for and found they were charging me for this monster. It ended immediately and I kindly dumped it on the cable provider. I immediately did a little research and came across this NetGear device. Setup wasn't as easy as expected from plug and play (see below), but activation was easy and despite the costโ€ฆ
