Regular guy, not a techie

We have Comcast, this modem is supported by Comcast and very easy to set up. It took less than ten minutes. If you have Comcast, there are specific instructions for setting it up. Very easy. The modem still works. Our internet speeds are where they should be. Stop renting your modem and buy one! As far as technical stuff goes, I have no idea what it is without googling something. I connected it to a LINKSYS EA7300 wireless router and now I'm enjoying it. the best connection.

Pros
  • GOLS certificate
Cons
  • No instructions

Stopped working after 2 months

This modem was great and performed exactly as advertised but only for 2 months. I started noticing intermittent internet last week and blamed it on Comcast and then my internet went down completely 3 days ago. All modem LEDs were on, my router was working fine, but I couldn't connect to the internet. Today a Comcast tech came in for an hour until we finally found the modem wasn't responding properly so I replaced it with my old modem and got my internet up and running again. So they bought on…

Pros
  • Not cheap but decent
Cons
  • Nothing

Problems Electronics

I've had this modem for a little over 6 months and it's not reliable. Everything was fine for the first three months, but then the connection began to disappear. I restarted the modem and it worked fine for a while and then started trading again. All morning he works about 15 minutes and then he's down. I'm glad I forgot to turn on the modem I rented from my ISP. I plugged it in and had no problems. I am very disappointed with this modem. I'm usually a fan of Netgear, but there were some issues

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Little things

After buying a new 4K TV, I found that the modem/router combo with built-in WiFi couldn't handle it. So I decided to get a new modem and router to have better control over the devices. This device was easy enough to set up. After installing it, I tried using Comcast's useless self-install feature. He kept asking me if I wanted to transfer the old WiFi settings as if it were a router. So he didn't let me point out that it's just a modem. So I had to call support directly. I asked the guy to…

Pros
  • MODEM TECHNOLOGY: Developed with DOCSIS 3.1 32x8 and OFDM(A) 2x2 Link Aggregation.
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

Instant speed boost!

This is the best buy for a modem I've had to date (ARRIS SURFboard SB6121 4x4 DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem paired with a NightHawk X10 router) and it started to fail me, the speed dropped all the way to 0MB/s . Tested by connecting the modem directly to the desktop, the speed is reduced. I have blast speeds (250MB/s DL and 10MB/s UL/s) from Xfinity Comcast and the old modem never saw speeds above 135MB/s DL. It was fine until it started failing, then I realized it wasn't my IP fault, I wasn't getting

Pros
  • MULTI-GIG ETHERNET: 1 2.5Gbps Ethernet port for the fastest multi-gigabit internet connections.
Cons
  • Frequency

Best 3.1 DOCSIS Modem for XFinity

At first I was fed up with some negative reviews but after reading online reviews from reputable sources and trying this modem for myself, this modem is amazing! First of all, the installation was very easy. In short: 1.) Switch on. 2.) Plug an ethernet cable from your modem into your laptop and go to xfinity.com/activate3.) All you have to do is sign in as if you're going to pay the bill and that's it. - no account numbers or the like! 4.) CALL XFINITY TO ACTIVATE YOUR HARDWARE! Don't skip…

Pros
  • WORKS WITH ANY WIFI ROUTER, BETTER WITH WIFI 6: Connect any WIFI router to this modem's Ethernet port to support all your wireless devices. Connect to a NETGEAR WiFi 6 router or Orbi Mesh System for the fastest Internet access.
Cons
  • Sad Hardware

My poor family suffered from this device.

My family struggles with temper tantrums and grumpy attitudes and I have this thing damn, try to make it work. They have also been deprived of one of the most valuable human needs: WiFi. Read on for a story of hope, heartbreak, and recovery. In short, this Netgear modem sucks. I bought it because my Xfinity Double Play package (150Mbps internet + cable) had expired and I was charged $60 more. By calling Xfinity they were able to lower my bill. The Double Play and the Triple Play ended at the…
