Description of Octave Transparent ABS Filament for Flawless 3D Printing - 1

STRONG AND DURABLE 3D PRINTS - ABS is one of the plastic filament materials most commonly used for 3D printing. It produces durable 3D printed models that have higher resistance to heat and are less brittle than those printed with some other popular 3D printing materials (like PLA). HIGH QUALITY ABS FILAMENT - Octave engineered its ABS filament to work at a wide extruder temperature range, and manufactures it to tight tolerances using quality materials, so it works smoothly and consistently. PROFESSIONAL 3D PRINTED MODELS - Models printed with Octave ABS filament are tougher, more durable, and more heat resistant than models 3D printed with PLA, and have more in common with mass-produced plastic models and parts. Octave ABS can be sanded, glued, and painted, as well as post processed in an acetone vapor bath for a smoother, glossy finish. WIDE COMPATIBILITY - Octave ABS filament prints at temperatures from 210-250°C, so it works well with most 3D printers that support 1.75mm ABS filament, like Raise3D, ZMorph, Afinia, FlashForge, Creality, Fusion3 F410, UP, PrintrBot, MakerGear, Solidoodle, CraftBot, and others (80-120°C heated print bed strongly recommended, external spool holder may be required—always check your printers’ specifications). SPECIFICATIONS - Color = transparent, Material = ABS, Filament diameter = 1.75mm, Print temperature = 210-250°C, Recommended print bed temperature = 80-120°C, Spool capacity = 1kg (2.2lb), Filament length = 400m (approximate), Reel diameter = 16cm (6.30”), Reel width = 9cm (3.54”), Hub diameter = 3.5cm (1.38”), Hub width = 8.5cm (3.35”).

This is clear ABS but it doesn't print like normal ABS

This is clear ABS but it doesn't print like normal ABS. If you take the setup for Octave's own white ABS, the pressure won't be the same. In our case, small details became blurred and the texture turned out differently. The sizes are also slightly different. It also doesn't polish well. YMMV, but expect some setup issues. We tried both a lower temperature and the same temperature as normal ABS. Bowden tube printer. There are no problems with the food. Seems a little sensitive to moisture.

Great at the right temperature

Prints accurately and without problems in my Afinia at the right temperature. I deducted a star because the printed matter is more translucent than transparent. That's exactly what I wanted though, something to diffuse the light from the LEDs. The right temperature is very important. If you don't lower the temperature as directed on the safety data sheet, the plastic can crisp and block the extruder. At 236 I get great results. The first photo is a 2mm thick plate on a black and white…

Played on unknown but this works best!

This is an excellent thread. I used the entire roll in about a month printing prototypes. It comes out evenly, doesn't clog, very even in thickness and shape. Transparent properties are great, but I don't care. It's cool for some of the internal LEDs in my electronic projects, but for now I'm using this material as the standard. It has replaced the black ABS of some other brands. I only had 1 bobbin jam in the entire run. The thread was very kinked on the inside of the reel so this happened at…
