My new favorite yarn

Firstly it comes in a large, strong, reusable pouch which is very handy as TPU absorbs moisture very easily. A quick bake at around 160°F will return the filament to an anhydrous state for amazing results. I was able to print chain links with excellent finish, overlap and no sign of bleeding between jet strokes. My ancient i3 extruder can easily run at about 20mm/sec. to press. This filament also has amazing adhesion and also prints well on cold bed with masking tape or Kapton tape. If you…

Overture yarn has problems all over

This is the third purchase of Overture yarn that I am not satisfied with. I've bought them PLA, TPU and PETG and they all print horribly and in some cases TPU doesn't print properly at all. I'm on FB where we've tried everything to get the orange TPU to print correctly and each time it's had issues. I refuse the overture. I've put thousands of hours into typing and this has to be the worst thread. I'm glad some of you are lucky, but I've seen many dissatisfied customers turn away from Overture.

Pros
  • High elasticity, soft threads
Cons
  • Fragile

Decent TPU especially for the price

I've been using Overture PLA and PETG so I had to try it when I saw they added TPU and I'll add some comments here, since more there are no reviews for it. I have blue and it's a light opaque blue - not transparent at all. The price is good for a 1kg spool, for some reason most TPUs come on 800g spools so I'm happy with that. For reference, I'm using a Titan Aero and Volcano setup. At 230 it will extrude fairly well, but any bits that get stuck in the nozzle will slowly change color from light…

Pros
  • Inexpensive and wide compatibility
Cons
  • Only available in white
