Fram Ultra Synthetic is an excellent filter. I sent in an oil sample from my 2006 GMC Duramax after 7200 miles and about 20 months of towing. The fine dust in the oil sample was < 0.1 percent and thus at the limit of measurement technology. I have never used a Fram filter as I only use Motorcraft on my Ford. But the oil filter on our other cars is at an odd angle, making it difficult to maneuver the oil wrench. The textured grip on the fram is an absolute life and nerve saver when changing the oil on this car. The price is right for the money and the feature works just as well as any other filter and maybe better when I really look at things. My do-it-yourself oil change was put on hold as this product arrived damaged. The product was sent in a padded envelope and what you see in the photo is how I received the product. Care must be taken when transporting. I was able to get a replacement through Revain but had to deal with the inconvenience of the delayed oil change and packing and shipping the return to UPS.
