Inexpensive but worth at least double what I paid!

First impressions are that this is a great flashlight for the price. Other reviewers have commented on how bright it is. I don't find it that bright, but for the price it's very satisfactory. The quality seems on par with flashlights that cost two or three times as much. This light is probably the heaviest component I've added to my wife's bike, although I can't tell you the exact weight. The function is very simple, press the button on the top of the flashlight once to blink, twice to stay on,

Pros
  • 2 AA batteries (included)
Cons
  • I won't say anything

It works but with design flaws

I wonder how far the Planet Bike Beamer 3 is from Blinky Super Flash in terms of design and usability. As a rear light, the Blinky is almost perfect, but the Beamer 3 has a few annoying weaknesses. My main criticism is the steering wheel mount. To tighten the handlebar mount, you need to thread the rod through the slot with the notches protruding (a common technique for bike lights). The slots on the Beamer 3 are too far apart, so the bracket cannot be tightened in small increments; Therefore…

Pros
  • 3 5mm Nichia LEDs offer solid and flashing modes
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Great Commuter Light

I have two of these. Having replaced one (due to a bike accident) and will likely buy the same flashlight again. Here's what I like * 100 hours of battery life. Yes, you can get brighter light, but you will pay for it by using batteries.* When the batteries die, because they are LED, they gradually dim, giving you plenty of time to replace the batteries.* I double those Light - there are two on each side of my steering wheel. In urban environment, this is VERY effective in strobe mode to catch…

Pros
  • IPX6 waterproof
Cons
  • Not all will fit

Two Might Be Better

The comparison between Beamer 5 White LED and Beamer 3 White LED is excellent. The light quality of 5 LEDs is quite white, 3 LEDs have a bluish cast. Both look very bright, but compared to the brightness of the light emitted, they don't provide enough illumination of the road as one might expect. The 5 LED seems to have a longer stroke. In contrast to other posts, I think the brackets are well thought out. Both the strap and the cam closure can be adjusted. Out of the box, the mounts were too…

Pros
  • FL1 tested - running time: 46 hours (continuous light - 12 lm) and up to 100 hours (flashing light - 12 lm)
Cons
  • Protection
