Bad Glue: Power Sander Parts & Accessories

These things don't stick no matter what I try. Cleaning the holder with denatured alcohol before inserting the disc or other cleaning will not help; Glue just sucks.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Expensive

Sands well, sticks average

They work great when you attach them to the sander, but when you come back the next day the adhesion starts to decrease. You can reglue and they work fine again, but more often than not I forget to reglue and it flies first.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Bad grinding wheels. Attention buyers

Before these grinding wheels arrived I thoroughly cleaned the surface according to the manufacturer's instructions. These discs had to be worn. The disk was easy to insert with no problems. When I came back the next day, the disc was peeling off at the edges. I pressed to glue the disc. On the second day, the disk split again at the edges. .I think it's garbage. Why are they on sale?

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Out of style

Excellent adhesion and lasting grit

I installed them on a combo belt/disc sander. The disc has excellent grip. Old grinding wheels used to fly off the plate, but they held up well and firmly. The adhesive side is protected by release paper. This 60 grit disc cuts through hard wood quickly. The grain itself appears to hold up very well after repeated use of pruning red oak. Highly recommended.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • Minor issues

Very bad adhesion.

I bought these discs because they are good reviews. Well they must have written their own reviews because these CDs suck. I put one on my 6 inch sander and found it peeling off the next day. Before applying, I made sure the surface was clean. Also, this drive was noticeably thinner compared to the drive I removed, so I doubt it will last.

Doesn't stick well to grinding wheels

I thought the first flying saucer was my mistake. After thoroughly cleaning the aluminum plate with solvent, the discs still do not stick. When I use a disc sander everything is fine. But when I use a grinder to use the belt, the disc eventually flies off by itself. I often use a belt on my grinder and have given up. When the disc falls off, my sander works like a belt sander until I desperately need a disc sander. I'm so tired of applying (or reapplying) these miserable grinding wheels. Iโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • No

Don't go finer than 100 grit or you'll regret it

I think most of you use the ubiquitous disc and belt sander combo. I also assume most of you don't have a real dust collection system (like a shop vacuum) connected to the dust ports. Aside from that, here's what I've learned: 1. If you frequently grind ferrous metal, use neodymium bar magnets to catch chips as they form (see image).2. NEVER use finer than 100 grit unless you want to cover the entire garage in a damaging layer of dust. I bought a pack of 220 grit sanding discs a few months agoโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • I don't really like anything, it's ok
