Always Impressed and Satisfied Pro Bike Tools

Pro Bike Tools are great products. They are available at a reasonable price and I am always satisfied with the quality. I have a set of mini torque wrenches and a few other tools and they all work great! Also, Chris (I think the owner) is SUPER quick in answering questions, answers with video links, etc. PBT always exceeds my expectations for quality, price, value, and customer service.

Pros
  • Consistent Test Results
Cons
  • Stock Availability

The picture does NOT match the product received.

The image of this product is misleading. Of course I received chain pliers, but NOT the ones in the photo. There is no feather, just a bit placed vertically and not horizontally as shown in the picture. This may be old inventory and the current pictures reflect the new model (which can be found on their website). I still like professional bike tools and this tool will work as intended but it is not what is pictured.

Pros
  • Handsfree
Cons
  • I don't like it at all, everything is fine

The new tool design didn't work for me

The new tool design couldn't close my Shimano 12 speed quick coupler, even with the grips touching them I didn't have the strength to close them together. When I ordered this product the site also showed an old pliers style tool and I was under the impression I was going to get that. The product page did not update its image to the correct product until I received my order. I have since returned the product.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Some little things

Works well with Shimano quick links

This is a great tool for quick links. The design allows you to both compress the connection and remove fast connections. This provides better leverage, especially with Shimano quick links which tend to be very tight. So far I have not been able to completely close Shimano Quick Links with normal tools. This tool is also similar to Shimano, but is a bit more compact. It's not as durable as a Shimano cast tool. KMC, YBA and other quick links are much easier to install and work too.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Replace your own chain and save more than the price of this tool

I have never changed my chain, I have always trusted the store to do it. I usually buy a SRAM PC 1091R HollowPin chain at the store for $46 and then $10 for 2 minutes of work to install on my bike. I decided to try it myself. You can do it without this tool (I watch about 20 YouTube videos) but this inexpensive tool makes it much easier. My bike uses 56 outer links (including the main link). So I just went along with it and everything worked out great. $15 saved (more than the cost of this…

Not Impressed: Bike tools and maintenance

What the 'instructions' doesn't say is that if it's a factory or custom chain the chain can have a riveted master link and this tool doesn't fits. Work. While trying to use this tool to try out a few spots on the chain, I bent the buttons a bit. I would say that a tool designed to relieve pressure on an object that has been through a lot of pressure needs a little more modification. This is common in all industries these days, but minimal guidance with few illustrations is too disappointing. It

Great tool and customer service!

I liked the fact that unlike other brands only one tool is needed to open and close the speed channel so I decided to give it a try. The first tool was bent and while it still worked I thought I could give the company some info on how they could improve the packaging. Pro Bike Tools responded immediately and after taking a few pictures of the bent tool asked if I would like a refund or replacement. I ordered a replacement unit and it arrived in a few days. They didn't even want to return the…

I'm picky. Serious. The way is selective. I follow everything Data, data, data! I wax my chains. Serious. Not many people do it. Do you know why I mention chain waxing? This is not only because it's the best way to extend the life of your transmission, but also because I'm constantly pulling the main links apart. Have you ever tried to separate them with your fingers? If not, then it's worth a try. Sometimes it's easy; sometimes not. Do you know what fixes it? This tool. The Master Link chain…
