REQUIRED TOOL! Engine Cooling & Air Conditioning

My god how did I only make valve springs before this tool. No more damaged rocker arm threads, no more tool fingers getting in the way of the detents, no more rushing to pull the detents out and try to hold 3 sets of springs with an old pry bar. I'm a big guy and over 400 pounds of spring compression was an issue, NO MORE! It has enough leverage that you don't even need a knob on standard single springs! Even if you only make one set of feathers in your lifetime, this tool is worth its weightโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other picks

I had to align the angled fork as others have said

This is much more comfortable to use than the cheaper bar block. The lockout design is incredibly useful when re-attracting goalies. I had to flatten the angled fork, as others have said, nothing is difficult with a vise. Another mod I made, I replaced the 3/8, 7/16 bolt hinge closure with a quick release snap button. A 1/4" diameter to a 1" pin only shortens it, but I went with 1.5" for safety reasons. This allows the shaft to rotate quickly and really helps with the valves near the firewallโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Easy install

  • Fits

This is a great tool for valve springs. It would have been ideal if it had a knurled guide pin, quick release pin and variable angle suspension forks (it didn't sit flat on the brackets on my BBC). It saved my ass from the cam change I did on the car. Unfortunately it didn't work on a valve on the back of the engine due to firewall interference. I bought a flat compressor just for this item. Otherwise it runs fast and does its job better than the screw compressors I've used in the past. If youโ€ฆ

best valve tool time.

Maybe I've tried every valve tool you can find and mostly the cheapest, it's just a valve right? After owning this tool I will never use anything else again. No more fumbling with a loose head pressing against a valve spring trying to push your finger out, just drop the cotter pin/retainer and fish it out, and after you fail with just one free hand, you can start over start. I used to look at them and they looked a bit complicated but damn why didn't I buy them 4 years ago? Should be in the top

Pros
  • Pleasant to use

An invaluable product for engine cooling and air conditioning

Wow. Don't do valve seals and springs on your car without it! It took a bit of fiddling to figure out my method, but what a great tool. A few tips: 1. The center shaft has two ends with different threads for the two supported sizes of rocker arm pins2. The tool can be easily disassembled to work on valves close to the firewall. With a valve I had to install a central shaft and then a tool around it.3. It is best to use a jam nut over the base to secure the base to the tool (prevents it fromโ€ฆ

Ideal for pulling heavy 140 lbs. Valve Springs

I'm glad I have this tool because it just compressed these 140 lb NP springs :D :D :DI I've got a pry bar, a clamp over my head and they're useless with valve springs 140 pounds. The fitting works, but it damages the seats and pushes down at a less than ideal angle, and if you're not centered you can bend the valve. The straight down valve is linear compared to the pivoting action you get with the pivot. Given the accuracy with my AFR 165cc 1402 heads and the price, I need to be specific too. I
