Received very quickly in a well packaged box. The device was very compact, as expected, and had easy-to-understand instructions. Installation was easy and everything worked right away. The instructions showed a switch on the side of the unit to select power from a 9V battery or 12V DC adapter. This phono stage is rubbish. Connected, receiving only one audio channel. I checked all the connections and found that this amp has only one working input channel. After taking it apart I found that the screw holding the battery cover was too long and when this thing was screwed on it destroyed the resistor on the board. Worked great right out of the box. Connecting a Grado XF3E cartridge to a Lepai 2020ti amplifier. I tested the unit's frequency response (see attached chart) and found it to be a little lacking in both low and high frequencies compared to the RIAA accent-cancellation specification, but that's not bad for the price ($12.98). I ran the cables and was able to determine that the preamp was the source of the problem. After checking the warranty I thought i would see if it could be sent back.
