Works as described.

Too much for 35s unless you subtract so I bought it. Installation is easy and works as described. Not really necessary on a 35 but having a tow hitch and setting the tire as high as possible so it doesn't get in the way of the trailer jack was my essential use and served that purpose well. Plenty of room for 37.

Dual mount option required

Used for 35" tires on my JLUS. It only took me about half an inch to remove the bumper. It would have been better to have two mounting positions available but so far it's been very stable, fits my spare tire and hasn't caused a pocket in the tailgate.

Exactly what I needed

This travel mount was just what I needed! The spare wheel was too big to fit on the bearing carrier and now it's perfect! I agree with others who have mounted the tire quite high so you can't see the rear view over the tire but that's ok... I can see the sides of the tire through the rear view and I can see out my side mirrors too :)

  • Everything is fine!

Wiring for the spare tire lamp bracket.

This extension plate is built to last, so no complaints. The instructions were simple except for one point, at least on my JL. About halfway through the installation you will be prompted to disassemble the third brake light bar to re-route the wiring to allow enough clearance to lift the bracket. I didn't have any slack so I only spliced the wires 6 inches more. It's easy to hide in the flashlight mount. Everything else was there and everything works great. I would buy this again.

Rear vision blocks, way too high

I just fitted 25's on my JL Sahara, stock keeper, the tire was against the bumper making it difficult to open the gate. 35 on the JL only needs a 2" lift, not a 5". Unfortunately, it elevates the 35 too high and obstructs rearward visibility too much. How difficult would it be to include two sets of holes and make it adjustable for 35 seconds or 37 seconds. To be honest the door isn't rated for the weight of 37's which compromises this mount anyway. The moving bracket is also well done, I just…

If you need more then this is the best option for the price

After putting some 17 x 9 5+ spacing rims on 35 x 12.50 tires on my Jeep JLU, I needed something for the tire carrier to be done . Van options are limited and expensive as it is a new vehicle and I need a reliable brand as an overloaded van is a good way to lose a tire. Rough Country seemed to test all the blocks and for around $70 it was the best. Possibility. The metal is strong and well coated with a black texture, NO gaskets or gaskets are supplied which I don't like but hopefully it will…
