Useful material but be aware of its shortcomings

I ended up using it to print some small articles. As a construction material, there are some disadvantages. The feel and equivalent strength I believe is cork wood. Very light material, but not as pressure-resistant as normal PLA. It also doesn't have much layer thickness, so I'd suggest using more fill than usual. For example, the barrels you see in the picture were printed with both gray PLA and this wood filament with the same settings (10% infill, 0.1mm thick layers). PLA filament is…

Update: 02/05/2021: I'm fed up with the cheaper "wood" filaments which are just wood colored PLA (not real wood and so extremely difficult to sand). Decided to try this thread going well in 2019 or so. It doesn't seem to be the same quality. It's very, very fragile. It's so bad I can't even unwind it enough to load it into my printer. It only breaks when it rotates. I thought there might be moisture in there (the bag that came didn't look sealed like the other threads, it was closed but there…

Nothing for beginners! for 3D printing consumables

, I just started 3D printing. Aside from the free filament that came with my printer, this is the only filament experience I've had and it definitely was! Everything started well. I printed a small job that only took about an hour and it turned out great. Then I started to print much larger - 10 hours after 12 hours of work I suddenly heard a "click" from my new printer. I immediately saw the feed stepper slip - the filament had enough grooves from the feed gear and didn't slip, but the stepper
