It's a car lover's or car painter's best friend

This tape is perfect for me and all my projects. I paint cars and add custom work with this tape and have had no problems so far. It is very resilient and the stickiness is not too sticky to damage the surface it is on. I've also used it as an alternative to transfer tape when making car decals, again it's soft enough to hold something like vinyl in place without damaging it. I will buy again soon.

Pros
  • Easy to set up
Cons
  • There are downsides

DO NOT BUY - Masking tape

Ruined my picture. I spent several days preparing the concrete, applying two coats of primer, and then taping over 400 square feet of flooring with this tape. Allow the base coat to dry for two weeks. The tape was installed less than a day before it was removed with all of the paint underneath. I still have more work to do as I need to repaint the areas that were torn with tape and wait for it to dry before I can finish my fake forest. Not only that, 3M (Environmental DEVIL) makes it too. Never

Probably better than nothing.

It could be better than nothing. Hardly. When the roller, never anywhere near saturated on a single coat, touches it, color reveals beneath the area it covers. The tape has nice straight lines, but between the paint seeping underneath and the paint it drags with it, the line is quite wavy. Then there's the part where he rips jagged chunks of paint off the wall. No problems with store bought masking tape, not with this brand. At best, that's a little better than nothing. I switched to a green…

multipurpose. suitable for painting, wall treatment and consumables

What can I say about a regular roll of tape? I thought I ordered car tape because I typed that into a search engine. One click led to the next, and apparently I bought duct tape, oops! But is there any difference at all? This roller was used to bond rubber and vinyl siding on my blending and buffing machine. It says painter's tape and I've found that if the tape is left for a few hours, particularly on my car's clear coat, it leaves a very thin bead of adhesive. It was lightly buffed with a…

Not at all what you would expect from him.

I ordered this to paint on a skateboard which I think is smaller than painting rooms, decorating etc but it was too awkward. The tape leaves a terrible aftertaste. when you peel it off, and it tears into separate "layers" when you try to cut it off as well. Doesn't leave a thin edge when cutting with an X-Acto knife. abominable. Going the cheap route is no reason to go through all that frustration and waste your time ripping off tiny pieces of duct tape that won't even come off. I guess I've…

I use this material so often

The method I use to install shelving (all types including keyhole mount) is based on this material and with it I can do things to within 1/128th of an inch on the place wall. All I need is a spirit level, this masking tape, and a pencil (well, usually also a drill and a screwdriver, but never mind that I can position really accurately with this tape). The secret is to press the straight edge of the strip of this material into a flat position. Then remove the item from the wall and tape the back

High quality product with slight roughness

I found this tape to be good for painting but with some limitations. It's very sticky compared to other brands, which has its pros and cons. On the plus side, this tape lets you draw clean lines between one color and another. In addition, the tape rarely bleeds and it can be removed without leaving any residue. On the other hand, it is more difficult to handle and place, and sometimes more difficult to remove, especially when trying to remove a very long strip of tape from the wall-to-ceiling…

bleeds and is difficult to remove

This tape leaked so badly that I could have done a much cleaner (albeit slow) job without it. Luckily, most of the areas I've drawn are fairly high up or in places I don't look at often. I can only imagine how frustrating this tape will be when you're painting where you need to paint really cleanly and accurately. And then, while it doesn't hold up well enough for paint to seep underneath, it's almost impossible to remove without tearing and leaving tiny streaks. I finally found a method to…

Best in class masking tape!

I have bought this tape several times to use for various mural and decoration jobs in our home. It adheres perfectly to the surface without fear of damage or chipping when removed, even after prolonged use. The tape does a good job of making clean lines without worrying about paint bleeding through the edges. I've used the tape on walls, wood paneling, metal window frames, carpets, etc. and the tape has held up incredibly well every time. too much traffic and wear and tear on projects…
