Works well and makes it easy to mark center lines and more. Except they supplied 2 pieces of the same size for the dowel pin attachment and 1 size is missing.

Don't waste time buying! I bought because of the price and realized very quickly that you get what you pay for. I had 9 holes in the project and the drill bit dug into the center ring and stuck. The board flew out of my hand, bent the bit and broke the tip.

Glue dowelling is less common and not as strong as the biscuit method. This is a temporary connection for my needs. I use it for custom extensions in dining table like applications. This dowel tool does its job well and is inexpensive. The main reason for purchasing this jig is the use of an offset center scriber. It's worth the price. As advertised.

I have several dowel tools but not this type. I see right away that the task will be to hold it in place so that it doesn't move while drilling. But it's pretty simple logic on how to keep it stable while playing around with it. Everything works at the highest level, high quality, very strong plastic. I mean, it looks like Craig is selling. 5 Stars!

If you are on a budget and looking for an alternative to leveling joints this is a great option. I was making a solid wood countertop and this fixture helped me a lot. This works well to line up the holes hence the boards I will then glue. Overall, I wouldn't necessarily buy this light; But now that I have it I will definitely use it to join long boards in the future.

This design seems to have a basic limitation of how close to the end of the board you can use it and still have the self centering action workable. During testing, I found that there was just over an inch from the end of the board to the first hole. I also found it quite difficult to tell exactly where the drill line will be when the tool is over the workpiece. Three sizes of dowel sets (10mm, 8mm and 6mm) are used with this tool. a few scraps of wood and made a small cube to try it out. (see photo of the process). A 10mm screw in the center of the dowel jig, then a drill of the same size. Now attach the drill collar of the same size.
