I didn't expect them to be well made (they aren't)

This is a very inexpensive set of hollow stamps, the whole set costs less than some individual stamps from other sources. Because of this, I didn't expect them to be nicely designed (which they aren't). However, I expected them to be functional (which is not the case). These tools cannot even cut through cardboard or thick paper accurately. If you press very hard (which you don't have to) the edges will curl, making them even less functional. This is with a standard food cutting board behind…

Useful for adding holes to straps - saves the day.

As many have said they come in handy when you need to add a few holes to the belt and that's why I bought them. They get the job done and are sharp enough to get the job done without hurting your skin. I'm not going to say they're very high quality or that they work commercially, but for the average person who uses them a few times a year for different projects, they should work very well. a regular awl for adding new holes in the leather, but it's far from perfect as it doesn't remove…

Good for casual users, but not for professionals

They work decently in the smaller sizes, but forget it if you need to punch something over 3/8 inch in diameter. I have owned this set for several years and use it for hobby and work. If you're a casual hobbyist who doesn't need precision and cost is an issue and you only care about small holes, then that's fine. If you use them regularly or need to punch holes in something valuable then beware if you do the latter save yourself the hassle and buy a genuine set from CS Osborne or Weaver Three…

DO NOT BUY if you REALLY USE them for leather work!

At first glance, it seems like the tool for making perfect holes in the skin. I punched 6 holes through *very* soft leather (1mm) with mine and after the FIRST hole was punched, the device was actually already bent! This is a design flaw - the block is soft metal (aluminum?) and is not supported across the entire face by a recess to allow the skin that has been knocked out to be pushed out. In hindsight it would have been better to just have a hollow tube and let the skin build up and come out…

Much better than a pliers style leather kick!

Much better than pincer-like skin punches. I needed a solution to punch some holes in leather to make an ax sheath. I originally bought a plier style Tekton punch from Amazon and it ended up tilting its head so it didn't work properly at all. This created sloppy holes that didn't cut all the way through. Then I bought them for the old school style of pounding on the skin. This worked much better for my purposes. The holes were nice and even, and I was able to pierce multiple layers of skin with

worth your money. And they're inexpensive

For the price ($10) they're ok. It would be asking too much to expect a beautifully designed, well-made product for the price paid. The edges left on tools after cutting ejection holes are MUCH sharper than the portion of the tool that is intended to be cut. Rather evil. I filed these edges first so they wouldn't intersect. Hole punching was fine on paper (#400 wet and dry). On a thicker material (ice and water protection - roofing material) they also coped well. Yes, the storage bag is cheap…

Some are not sharp in punches

Love the case (which I wanted). But some hits are not sharp. I use an old cutting board as a work surface and a standard hammer to pound my fist and some just do NOT go all the way around and get it stuck in some places and not leaving a clean line. I'll see if my husband can sharpen the edges of those that won't even cut through paper. In addition, it is not easy to push paper or cardboard out of the channel. I found that after two or three hits I had to stop and clean the canal with a…
