Can be annoying - sometimes it takes persistence and time

Sometimes it works with my new iMac, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes my iMac recognizes music CDs and I can copy the music to my computer. Sometimes I can't. If nothing happens when I insert the CD, I eject it with the paper clip in the small indentation next to the eject button. I then try a number of things to get it working: disconnect and reconnect the USB drives, restart the computer, disconnect and reconnect the drive. It is not pleasant to follow this ritual. I never know which of these…

Great Mac Blu-ray Burner Drive

This is the first Blu-ray drive I've bought and it has turned out to be really great. I use it with an iMac running High Sierra and a MacBook Pro running Catalina - no problems with either. I made several backups and only one of them failed (required lower write speed). The disc is easily recognized. from macOS and worked great with Finder and other burning software I've tried. Please note that you need to purchase related software to watch Blu-ray movies. The disc does not contain this…

Not a perfect drive, but it works and won't break the bank.

Pros: * Sturdy aluminum construction * Fairly quiet * Meets advertised features Cons: * Slow - Copying (I think burning too, but I don't know firsthand) takes about twice as long on this external drive by comparison to other similarly priced Blu-ray drives I've used. However, I have to admit that the other drives were internal, so maybe the speed is normal for external drives. the drive is sometimes slow to mount. In other cases, it must be unplugged and plugged back in for it to assemble…

VERY UNSATISFIED with external components

I know this is a budget product but I purposely paid a bit more money for the one with the USB-C port because my laptop doesn't have a 2.0/3.0 port. The cable is for connecting a 3.0 cable to adapter C, but this adapter is useless! As seen in the diagram, the cable is split so the C cable and 3.0 cable work independently, but that's not the case! They are connected with a plastic wire and need to be connected to each other. The instructions state that you should not use a USB hub as this could…

After burning about 50-60 DVDs on my 24" iMac the internal superdrive decided to wave the white flag and left. The warranty was up and I still needed something so I could install new software, watch movies or just move things off my computer. Having a broken superdrive was no fun. researched and ended up choosing this one for a number of reasons external device. First and most obvious was that I needed a drive to work with my iMac. I also wanted to start burning Blu-Ray (for backups) and have…

Works well, looks good and is very portable

Highly recommended. It works fine on my MacBook Pro Mid 2012 (i7 Quad Core running OS X 10.8). I plugged it in and it worked great, no drivers installed and all my existing software recognized the drive and worked as expected. How: Works right out of the box (no drivers required) Very small Very light weight Great for laptop users who need to carry it around No power adapter required (and not included) USB 2.0 cable included (it's one of those special dual head cables, if you have one If you…
