Works great with sliding door hardware

We installed a barn door in our newly renovated master suite. We made the door out of pine using tongue and groove and 1 x 6. We bought all the gear right here. We left the original door frames in place so we used a 2 x 4 as an offset to remove the existing door frames. This role was the finishing touch.
