Sportz Avalanche Pickup Tent III Review

I set up the tent without any instructions. It's pretty intuitive, people who say it doesn't fit just don't know how to pitch a tent. Make sure the dimensions are correct for your truck and refer to the manual that came with your tent bag.

We love this item! One of the best purchases we've ever made. We've camped with him about ten or more times. We stayed nice and dry and you feel safe inside. We love going to places where you can't take a caravan, it's really good for us.

This is a great addition to Avalanche if you like camping but don't want to sleep on the ground. Take out the rear window, fold down the rear seats and you have plenty of space under the tent. If you want, you can even air-condition the space in the tent! The quality of the material is comparable to most tents. Setting it up isn't difficult once you do it a few times. I really like this tent.

I love this tent! I bought it for my 2003 Avalanche Z71. Took me 30 minutes to set it up when it first arrived. After that it took me about ten minutes to set it up. I've used it for pouring water on the Oregon coast and stayed completely dry in the tent. I never lowered the center gate because I didn't need the extra space. I bought one of these tents for my Chevy Avalanche and it broke the first time I tried to set it up. So I ordered a second one thinking I could keep the first one for parts or maybe find a suitable rack and use it on my other truck. The awning also broke on the second. The radius the pole needs to be to fit both ends is too small and this tent is basically useless if you can't get the awning up. Too bad I just sent the first one back and got my money back.

My husband set everything up because I arrived at our campsite a day later than he did. According to him, this is a job for two (his brother helped), but overall very easy. It took them less than an hour to sort everything out! I should note that the tent poles are color coded to make it easier to see what goes where. Worked great! There were only 2 issues, firstly the screen on the door melted when we tried to melt the loose threads that got stuck in the zipper, it's my fault so I have to take care of that but these threads need to be cleared by Napier ! then came the second problem when i broke the tent and i didn't get the food hook on the passenger side and had to cut it off so i could stash the ten.
