Perfect pliers. - Pliers

My favorite pliers. I've been in the glass business for over 20 years and these are the best all-purpose tongs. When replacing the tip cap, be sure to purchase one from a professional studio.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Something else

The rubber tips fall apart.

Unfortunately the rubber tips suck, should have read the other reviews first. Both sides are simply destroyed in such a short time. One side is completely split and the other side is missing a huge piece of rubber. Spend the few bucks more I would say!

Pros
  • Ease of use
Cons
  • Negative impression

. Cutting and breaking glass and this was the perfect tool for it

I just learned how to cut and break glass and it was the perfect tool for it. These barrel pliers are well made and will last me quite a while. I liked them so much I told my friends about them and they ordered them too and love them. So easy to use.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Good cutter for both molten and regular glass

After a cycle or two of training I found I could cut and break any piece I wanted to work with. I am completely satisfied with these pliers. PS: Be sure to read the simple instructions and use the line on a sponge to line up the cut to be made. PPS: If the glass resists. and you seem to be pushing too hard --- STOP! You probably didn't cut the glass deep enough. Consult an instructor or a good introduction to glass cutting and melting.

  • New

Great for use with a glass cutter

I have had great results cutting fusible glass with these pliers. I use a high quality "cutter wheel" (which doesn't cut, just scratches the glass). Line up the mark with the line on these pliers and slowly press down. Make sure the glass is supported. Quality fusing glass is expensive, so I appreciate the consistently good breaks I get with these pliers. The plastic-coated tips leave no marks on the glass. The screw allows me to adjust the pressure applied to glass of different thicknessesโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Good but not great

Magic tongs are the best power tools and hand tools

Walking tongs are a staple in stained glass studios. I have a pair that I rarely use because I've never managed to "hang" with them - that is, the glass didn't break exactly along the cut line. While visiting another studio artist, I noticed that she was using a pair of Studio Pro 1-inch barrel tongs. She said they work well and are easy to use. So I ordered a pair of Revains, put them on straight away and was quite surprised at how easy and effective they were for breaking glass where I wanted

Pros
  • Tools and housewares
Cons
  • You could choose a newer model

You get what you pay for.

I am a little disappointed with this product and that I chose the cheaper option. Hit and miss with Diamond Tech products but I have to say that the company itself (I've never contacted the seller here) is very helpful and made up for the issues I had with some of their other products when I was in Have complained in the past 3 stars. I choose my battles and won't mess with these pliers, just leaving a review: Anyway, I've had these pliers less than a week and I've worked with glass forโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Power & Hand Tools
Cons
  • High Price

This is what you need to break broken glass.

I have never been able to cut window glass. I typed in a line, trying to press down with my palms as instructed, but the glass inevitably shattered in the wrong place. Then I stumbled over the pliers, and after looking at the close-up of the business end, I realized that this might just be the key to good results. You see, the jaws complement each other. That is, one has a concave surface while the other has a convex surface. This means when placed over the end of the marked line and thusโ€ฆ
