There are pluses and minuses, think before you buy.

When used with this lens, the Sony ILCE-7RM2 camera freezes for 45 seconds about every 500 frames, which is very annoying during the shooting process. The lens has the latest firmware v.3, the camera also has the latest firmware v.4.01. I took it to the Tamron service center, nice guys tried to help, changed the motherboard in the lens - but it didn’t change anything, the camera freezes continued. I thought it was some kind of defect in my copy of the lens, I rented another Tamron 28-75mm f /…

Pros
  • Sharp even at 2.8, reveals the capabilities of a 42-megapixel matrix Compact compared to Sony FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM Cheap compared to Sony FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM
Cons
  • Poor compatibility with Sony ILCE-7RM2, the camera freezes regularly with this lens. Marked plastic case

There are several shortcomings, in principle, it corresponds to the norm.

Used in tandem with Sony A7m3. Autofocus is terrible. Someone will say you need to ate the firmware. But I bought it with the latest version, I can’t even imagine how the focus on the previous version behaved. He's just awful. Yes, if you shoot a leisurely reportage or maybe a video there, everything is ok. But if there are fast approaching objects in the frame, then even with perfect lighting at any focal value, the lens will specifically disappoint you. 6-7 out of 10 shots will be missed. Of…

Pros
  • Price. Picture. The weight.
Cons
  • Autofocus. Plastic. Focal.

The right product for me, there were no problems.

I've been using for a year now. Delight, especially after getting to know the products of other systems. I have been taking pictures since 2022, I sat on the Kenon, Nikon, Pentax, Fuji systems at different times, but I never had such glass. Everything is perfectly balanced in it. I also have two fixes, but if you need to get everything in one and go somewhere to travel, so as not to think about changing lenses, this is what you need. I can also unequivocally praise the lightning-fast and…

Pros
  • Sharpness, focus, picture, bokeh (as for zoom), aperture, price
Cons
  • Plastic housing, not very suitable for use in harsh professional environments (frost, rain, sand, etc.)

A great option for this money, one of the best offers.

I don’t understand why they write down the lack of stabilization in the review above as a minus: 1) It would affect the price! 2) In the same Sony A7 II or III series there is a stub. Do you think having it in the lens will improve it significantly? I doubt it . Yes, and not everywhere it was useful Tamron has clearly succeeded in the lens. IMHO, one of the best deals for full frame Sony mirrorless cameras!

Pros
  • 1) Sharpness (slightly inferior to Sony FE 24–70 mm F2.8 GM) 2) Price! 3) Well made 4) Very quiet and fast autofocus (during use I didn’t notice the discussed bug, but after the firmware it began to work better in some moments) 5) 5 year warranty
Cons
  • Probably only distortion . But it is solved by the same profile in lightroom

Exactly as promised by the manufacturer, high quality.

In everything, the device has both pluses and minuses, the main thing is that it is light, but because there are plastic parts. Protected from moisture, raindrops roll off the lens, rubber bands everywhere. The lens is very fresh, not many people have purchased it yet, but it is no longer available! Everywhere under the order and wait at least a month! Sharpness over the entire range does not suffer, quiet, almost silent autofocus, there are not enough control buttons, but you can also get used

Pros
  • Super-light, shoots video well, standard indicators such as autofocus, stub, zoom are at a good level.
Cons
  • Lots of plastic parts.

Not everything is so bad, the average purchase in quality.

In general, the lens is for ordinary people. Or for pop-style weddings, which, as you know, are failed photographers who have followed the beaten path, repeating each other. Here they will appreciate this lens + because of its more or less attractive price. The lens does not at all live up to the same Minolta both in terms of the quality of the construct and (most importantly) in terms of design. For the drawing is really banal, reportage and information. It has no "character", it does not have

Pros
  • Stability of work, "grip"
Cons
  • Mediocre drawing, spotty-rippled "bokeh". For those looking for this lens, it is important to read the warning below.

The right product for me, there were no problems.

Camera a7m3. Happy with the lens. For amateur shooting in everyday life, I have enough. Yes, the bokeh is worse compared to the fix, but this is a drawback of all zooms. The design is good too. Successfully "passed tests" in the extremely humid climate of Africa, in fact, at the equator, the cold winter of the Urals and the dryness of the deserts. I can recommend it to those who do not pursue pixel art, who need a good inexpensive and light (which is especially important when traveling) lens…

Pros
  • In general, a good design. Sharp enough for a budget zoom. Light.
Cons
  • Retractable trunk. I would like internal zoom, as in 17-28.

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The quality is at the level, I am satisfied with everything.

A good device for enthusiasts and photography lovers. Inexpensive, but not inferior in basic characteristics to more elite counterparts. Stunning sharpness from 28 to 50mm in the central and middle parts of the frame starting from f2.8, the edges soften to 75mm. Pleasant to the eye color rendition, moisture protection. A lot of plastic parts is a minus. But not as bulky as Sony.

Pros
  • Silent autofocus, excellent build quality.
Cons
  • For this price?! They are not here. For quibbles - sharpness at the edges at maximum focal length.

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The ratio of price and quality is very pleasing, I will repeat the purchase.

After a year of use, I can say with confidence that I was not disappointed in the purchase - Tamron took pride of place in my wedding photo backpack and travel bag. Quite compact and light, with a good picture, sharp throughout the entire range with convenient focal lengths, for many it can become the main lens for both serious work and travel for many years. And it’s just a pleasure for them to shoot flowers in the park. Yes, sometimes 24mm is not enough for a wide angle when shooting…

Pros
  • + Relatively inexpensive these days + small size and light weight + moisture protection is present + fast and accurate AF + sharp in the center and in the middle of the frame throughout the entire range + fairly fast and accurate focusing on cameras of the 3rd Sony series (on the 1st and 2nd everything is noticeably worse) + holds backlight well + small MDF, allowing you to shoot in the macro range
Cons
  • - weak sharpness at the edges of the frame - decent vignetting, especially at the long end - mediocre bokeh, especially in a photo with a complex background

I'm amazed! It was definitely worth the money!

Take it as soon as you get the chance. At one time I snatched it out as the only one in Hong Kong. I don't regret one bit. The choice of purchase was determined by a weighted price / quality ratio. The picture quality is at the level of top-end zooms, and the price is very pleasing compared to Sony's native glasses. This lens does not distort the color of the main picture. Gives out one to one without yellowness and blueness. I tend to believe that the lens has its own artistic drawing. The…

Pros
  • 1) Autofocus speed. Specially tested on SONY a7R, the result is great! I thought that the R series would be retarded with this lens, but no! Comparable, but inferior in speed by about 10% SONY A7 ii. I consider this to be very good. 2) Dimensions and weight. It is smaller and lighter than SONY's G-master staff! 3) I read here that it’s uncomfortable to wear a hood . Nonsense! Very convenient. And the click is characteristic, and it is easy to put into the marching version. I was pleasantly surprised by the lens cap, which is easily removed and very well fixed on the lens thread. 4) Tactilely pleasant lens. The material is light but looks good. Rubber focus and zoom rings. 5) There is a rubber seal on the bayonet ring. This is another application for the PRO series. 6) Aperture and sharpness worthy of more top-end and more expensive glasses. This also draws on the PRO series. 7) Paired with SONY a7 ii, all declared modes that are inherent in native glasses work properly. There are no comments yet. 8) Silence drive focusing.
Cons
  • 1) No stub. Without it, you have to significantly shorten shutter speeds when used on SONY a7R. 2) No buttons on. and off. manual mode. Although this can be done in the carcass. Not critical. 3) Poor equipment from the factory. Box, lens and document. Everything.

I like it, thanks for the quality product.

I am an amateur photographer, spoiled by Sigma Art primes and generally prefer not to shoot with zoom lenses. I took this model for testing, impressed by the reviews and photos. What can I say? For some, this lens has a chance to become a permanent whale on a Sony A7 III camera or similar. In particular, these are people who prefer "all-in-one" solutions and photographers who do not need an optically perfect, but versatile and easy-to-use standard fast zoom. As a non-professional, I am much…

Pros
  • Perhaps the perfect combination of size, weight, FR and aperture. Feels great on the camera, easy to zoom, pleasant to the touch. Sharp (for a fast zoom of this price category, even very), holds backlight well and generally gives a nice picture. Focuses very close across the entire FR range, though not macro. Focus is fast but not sporty, the new Sony lenses are much faster. Zooming while maintaining focus will not work - it is not parfocal, you need to refocus every time.
Cons
  • It only gets really sharp at f/8, and is disappointingly soft at 75mm wide open. Often gives ugly non-uniform bokeh. In principle, the pattern of blurry zones at all apertures could be better. It is clear that these are the limitations of a compact design, but with fixes, the picture sometimes does not even stand next to it. At 75mm f/2.8, it's sometimes hard to separate the subject from the background - the sharpness and contrast of the subject is so low and the bokeh is lively. The same Sigma Art 85mm F1.4 at f/2.8 washes incomparably better and gives more visual volume.

Everything in the product suited me, the price is generally perfect.

After switching from CANON to SONY a7III, there were lenses ( 17-40 f / 4, 70-200 f2.8) / Expensive, hard to sell and not very bad. The variant with the adapter caused tears when hovering and focusing. Sony demanded a transition to their system. Tamron, in whose owners Sony, came to the court as well as possible)). Everything is built in it to get the result, there is no unnecessary and superfluous. Supports everything put in the camera, you stop thinking and being distracted. Eye tracking…

Pros
  • High aperture, low weight, sharpness, fast autofocus, bokeh (as a result of a large hole), the real price for a good lens.
Cons
  • They can be found if you need it. But do you need it, to seek out and dig, if it does not catch your eye? For me, they (disadvantages) are at the level of error (as mathematicians say)))

A good quality product, I rate this purchase perfectly.

The best standard format lens ever! The best analogue of 24-70 G-master. for any category . well, maybe with video, autofocus is induced a little slower . by 0.5 seconds, but an adequate person will not pay extra 100 thousand to compensate for these milliseconds . The assembly is Chinese, but the design is made in Japan . therefore, do not worry stands for the assembly . everything is tight.

Pros
  • Thanks to the design in a distance of 28-75 he: -QUIET -LIGHT -SMALL -Protected -any game like aperture, etc., I won’t say . this is already clear The most important PLUS of this glass is HE IS MUCH Gmaster 24-70! look at any comparison on YouTube . tamron makes it in all respects . I didn’t have cooler glass . I shot half the wedding season and I hug him more often than my wife .
Cons
  • He doesn't have them! And what they write there are problems with autofocus - this is solved by downloading S TO THE LENS on the off site and jambs with autofocus disappear . that's it! it's a groal!

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The ratio of price and quality is very pleasing, I will repeat the purchase.

I shoot on Sony A7II, I tried almost the entire line of Sony lenses (Thanks to the rental), GM, Batis, and I can safely say that the lens from Tamron is in no way inferior to expensive glasses from Sony, and some even surpass them in terms of parameters. So, for example, autofocus works much more accurately and quickly than that of the 24-70 F4, I’m generally silent about fixes like 85 1.4 GM / 1.8 Batis, they generally disappointed with their work, although they were faster. Also pleased with…

Pros
  • + Price + Sharpness + No aberrations + Light weight
Cons
  • - There were problems with focusing, fixed by firmware ate

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The right product for me, there were no problems.

Remark to avoid misunderstandings: the user is an amateur and does not claim to have a deep knowledge of optics. I shoot on a7iii and a7c, the impressions are strictly positive I bought it mainly for video filming a home blog (talking head at the table + subject shooting), but now I carry it with me everywhere. The previous optics are whale sel2870 (from three) and sel2860 (from tseshka). By the quality of the picture - heaven and earth (which, again, is expected). I would really like to write…

Pros
  • Picture is clear and sharp Focus, although slower than in native Sony, is still very fast Lens light - bokeh top Constant aperture at all focal lengths
Cons
  • Tight zoom ring When zooming hard, focus is (expectedly) lost Heavy (which is expected, so not really a minus)

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Wonderful quality, one hundred percent satisfied!

Before buying glass, you need to understand whether it suits your needs at all. This is, first of all, an average reportage zoom for a full frame. Not a portrait, not a subject, not some other kind. And in this context, 28 is narrow. To immerse yourself in events, sometimes you want a little wider. On the other hand, good widths are an expensive pleasure in itself, and this zoom is much cheaper than all analogues. Did he replace my fixes? Yes, in a way. I left only light fixes with character…

Pros
  • Price - no comment Weight, dimensions - corresponds to the concept of the UPC-camera, does not disturb the balance, like kilogram glasses. Decisive point. Security - I'm not talking about rain - I don't believe in it and don't want to check it. But at least dust does not appear on the matrix. Sharpness right from the open - I have 24 MP, full frame, in most of the frame at 2.8 it is completely resolved. Focus speed - nothing outstanding, but I have no problems. The minimum focusing distance is a unique feature, often a very nice one. Integration - support for all functions of the E mount, no errors in BB and focus paired with the A7M2, which has such problems with some glasses. Holds backlight - no miracles, but worthy. Liquid - on the secondary market it almost does not lose value.
Cons
  • The drop in contrast by 75mm is insignificant, but it is what it is. Bokeh without character - absolutely. After Zatz 24-70 2.8 it's even sad and boring, but these are completely different "weight categories". Glare in the bokeh is typical for a zoom, there are no miracles here. The wide end is narrow - probably the saddest thing. Zoom stepless - shots at 51mm, at 37mm - hello. It doesn't affect much, it's just a little annoying =). The materials seem cheap - he is unlikely to live 10-15 years. And this is a workhorse, for her durability is important.

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Matches the description completely, very satisfied.

I've been using it for years and have never regretted buying it. before buying, I rented this tamron and sony 24-70 f2.8. picture is the same. if you use it on a tamron stub, then everything is ok, but with the sony 24-70 f2.8, problems arise when you unscrew the zoom by 70 ronin s, it slowly starts to go down (it is solved by the ronin settings, but with a tamron there are simply no such problems - very easy)

Pros
  • Sharp, light, compact, better than Sony 24-70 f2.8 in every way if for video.
Cons
  • if for a photo, then the focusing speed is much slower than that of the sony 24-70 f2.8

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Fits the description completely, very satisfying.

It's strange to read reviews like - "well, bokeh, of course, is not the same as that of fixes" . Guys, what are you talking about ?! On no system, on 2.8 zoom glasses, there will ever be "bokeh like a fix"! A priori! It's also funny to read about "no stabilizer". Excerpt rules to help you. So to speak, materiel. And if we talk about the stub in Sonya, then consider his presence nominal. There is something to compare, if anything. I have several models from different manufacturers.

Pros
  • Adequate price, in relation to relatives from Sony. Excellent build quality. Aperture, sharpness, autofocus, including the eyes. Perfectly resolves a matrix of 42-45 megapixels. Chic glass for every day, even for travel, even in the studio.
Cons
  • Not seen

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The quality exceeds all expectations, I recommend to buy.

We can confidently say that this is the lens that any photographer with a Sony camera should have. Its closest counterpart, GM, is incredibly expensive, but judging by the tests, it has the same sharpness. And the question arises: "Why pay more, if so everything is fine?". Yes, if you need a focal length of 24mm, then there is no choice, but if you are not critical, then Tamron is definitely your choice. The lens, in turn, does not look professional. Small and toy, at first glance, but once you

Pros
  • 1. Price. You will not find a lens for Sony without an adapter at this price. This is the main trump card of this lens when comparing it with competitors. 2. Sharpness. The lens is very sharp, but not at the long end. There is some loss of sharpness, but at this price it's a shame to complain. 3. Weight and size. The lens is tiny and light, especially after analogues for SLR cameras. 4. Silent operation. 5. Fully compatible with Sony cameras. There is focusing on the eyes, and focusing on the edges of the frame, and even in the video it focuses quite confidently. 6. Five years warranty
Cons
  • Anything lower is possibly subjective and is the cause of a bad lens instance or some other factor. 1. Vacuum cleaner. The lens draws dust through itself onto the matrix quite well. After some time of using the lens, without removing it from the camera, I found that the entire matrix was covered in dust. 2. Moisture protection. I don’t know by what miracle, but inside the lens there are already a couple of streaks resembling dried drops. 3. Quality of materials. The lens looks nice, but unreliable. The case is plastic, but for a long time of use it did not catch a single scratch, which is very commendable. But for some reason, the zoom gum was already swollen and began to crawl out of the recess. 4. Strange work with A7 III. Everything is great over the entire range of focal lengths, especially in sunny good weather, but sometimes there are situations when misses happen in the tracking mode with focusing on the eyes at a focal length of 75mm. The camera confidently shows a square in front of the eyes, but after taking the frame, the eyes are not in sharpness. I checked on other glasses, this problem was not noticed.
