Fast as advertised for networking products

Impressive little adapter. I had a motherboard failure on my main computer and was forced to use my laptop as my main device. I quickly found that the wi-fi, while fast, just wasn't good for large transfers and booked this guy. I have to say that I was very impressed that it easily reaches a maximum speed of 985 MB/s, which allows me to transfer data to and from the server without any problems. Having a few extra USB ports is a very nice bonus (you really don't know how limited a laptop isโ€ฆ

Don't miss installing drivers from website

Pretty good network adapter and USB hub. It works as expected for both the hub and the ethernet port. First, I skipped the installation disk and just used the generic Windows drivers. And while it worked fine, I had issues with the network not reconnecting after a reboot. There were no activity indicators, and I had to manually reconnect the adapter for the network to start. I updated the drivers from the website and after a few reboots I can report that the adapter now reconnects properlyโ€ฆ

Fixes an issue that would normally require a new laptop

does exactly what it says on the tin! A network card failed in a laptop I love, I already had an ethernet cable so this was a great workaround - the USB ports work great too. Just make sure you turn on your laptop/computer before plugging in the device. I wait for the login screen to appear before plugging in the ethernet or additional USB devices - the device heats up so make sure it's not next to your skin, I put mine behind my laptop on the table I use use and no problem. I also wait for itโ€ฆ

Works and gets the job done

Use this on a 2017 surface pro replacing my huge heavy laptop when I travel. Some of my clients don't have public WiFi and the only option is a network cable. So far it works and serves its purpose. When using all 3 ports with flash drives connected and a network cable, everything works. The device is quite small and the cable is thicker than my phone's USB cable, for example, but it is quite flexible. Only time will tell if it holds up with all the twists and turns. There is a very small LEDโ€ฆ

  • Satisfied so far

Small size and work

I had to buy one of these things because I was fed up with my work tablet that was always "giving out" the internet when I connected to wifi. Setup was very easy, I plugged in the ethernet cable from the router to the end and then plugged in the USB dongle to the tablet. Voila, stable wired internet! I get pretty decent speeds on internet speed tests (I think the hardware on my tablet is pretty old too so I'm not expecting the 1Gbps I usually get with my normal setup) 130Mbps and 260Mbps sโ€ฆ

  • Sturdy design
Cons
  • Unusable features

Full speed and light weight

The RJ45 ethernet port on my motherboard has failed and instead of sending my pc in for repair (and going without a desktop for a month or so) I thought you'd better give it a try a USB port Ethernet adapter. When I saw the adapter paired with a 3-port USB 3.0 hub, I figured it might be worth a try, at least a week or two before the motherboard repairs. The low price made me hesitate. The adapter is advertised as 10/100/1000 and I'm using a gigabit router with a lot of heavy local area networkโ€ฆ

I understand. They're cheap, but stay away from them.

I know what you're thinking: You recently bought a new electronic device and suddenly realized that you have a lot of USB cables to connect it to, but not enough ports to dock it with. With that mentality, I bought this USB hub to ease my electronics-filled lifestyle. Essentially, it gets the job done relatively free of charge. However, if you are at all interested in the long-term stability of your workplace, go for something more expensive and of higher quality. I trusted several TECKNETโ€ฆ
