Good leverage but I prefer traditional 10 " diagonals

Unmatched quality. Knipex. Only four stars due to my personal preferences. Comfort grips give less feedback than standard grips. , Jaw opening is somewhat restricted. Good leverage but I prefer traditional 10 inch diagonals.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Trade-in

Suitable if you want something a little more compact

Cutting capacity is about the same as a 10" diagonal cutter in a 7" package. Big. BUT - So much less comfortable to use, requiring double the stroke on harder materials and much less smooth opening/closing when one stroke will suffice on softer/smaller wires. Unless you absolutely need a smaller form factor, this model doesn't make sense. .

Pros
  • Very fast delivery
Cons
  • No instructions

I work with HVAC systems and use wire cutters every day. I have a couple of canal locks, a cheaper pair of Huskys and they cut a lot of stuff but these Knipex cutters cut everything. They run smoothly even when cutting hard materials and their double effect is clearly noticeable. I've only had them a few days but I've cut through sheet metal, nails, cable, heavy gauge wire, heavy plastic and maybe a few materials I forgot and they all cut like butter. They are comparatively more expensive thanโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Good, but not great

They cost money but can save you a lot of trouble

I'll confess I don't have much experience with side cutters but I've had many occasions where I've had to cut various wires, nails and screws. and in this case copper rivets and burrs. I have to say that in the past I've been impressed by having to use bolt cutters, wire cutters or different types of pliers; not everyone was up to the task. But they cut through the rivet rod with little effort on my part. The "twinforce" design seems to make a big difference and the small profile fits in myโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Not sure
