Great ball for towing products and winches

Reese 63840 Class V hitch ball for my 2021 Chevy Silverado 2500HD installed easily and works great. Revain's price and shipping made it attractive, and Reese's product quality is one of the reasons it bought it. I will continue to buy Reese Towing products from Revain.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Some bugs

Great item, great price, fast shipping. Don't skimp on trailer equipment. I needed this to tow 14,500 lb gear on a 3,500,000 lb trailer. I've put this on a fake customer sting also estimated at ยฃ20,000 and on a customer consignee also estimated at ยฃ20,000. Now everything is safe and legal.

Pros
  • practical item
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine

Reliable drawbar suitable for external accessories

Good value for money. We bought a trailer and found our hitch was too small when we towed it and it was hanging from its hitch. The chains were crossed so luckily no one was hurt. I know the amateur mistake. We asked the seller who told us something wrong. We hurried and ordered this one. Trialer now pulls smoothly and safely. Weight distribution and strength at height.

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Working speed

Okay, but not a brand name.

I just received it, haven't used it yet. I bought this over another brand because it has a couple of flats on a ball base that you can attach a wrench to. I love photos so I took some for others. It's supposed to be Reese/Tow Ready, but it doesn't have a label to indicate that. There is a CTP stamp on the top of the ball. I try to buy branded items hoping for better quality. Everything seems fine and everything probably is fine too, I wish Reese was printed somewhere.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • No instructions

He does what he has to do.

That's just a solid clutch. Note the size, this is a 1 1/4" shank so you will need a 1 7/8" socket to tighten this nut. The clutch instructions say 400 ft.lbs. To tighten the nut to this level you will need a large 3/4" torque wrench. You may also need a sturdy friend and/or a piece of pipe. Take the flat side of the ball skirt and let it come up the back of the truck a little 2x4 while me and a friend put pressure on the end of the torque wrench, we just did it.

Pros
  • Amazing
Cons
  • I won't say anything

No manufacturer listed

When I received this there was no indication of who made it. It doesn't have a tag or a Reese stamp or anything in the assembly instructions. Be sure to tighten! I don't want to lose such a large load. I've had him for about 8 months now. I've towed many large loads with it (about 16,000 pounds of water plus trailer weight) and it showed no signs of failure (warping, bending, tearing). However, it corroded badly and in a very short time. I suspect this is not a brand with a lower qualityโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Hard to tell
