Great center. suitable for computers and accessories

Chic hub. I work at Ironman events, managing a team of 8-10 photographers who capture 50,000-100,000 images onto 30-50 flash cards during an event. Being able to connect 4 card readers to quickly download all those images to my hard drive is a MUST. This center makes it possible. And if you connect 4 card readers/cards, loading all 4 takes no longer than loading one card since the USB 3 port is not the bottleneck.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • There are defects

Does not power USB 3.0 hard drives or external CD/DVDs

Purchased to add a USB port for 2 portable hard drives. I thought it was nicely and stylishly made for a lower priced plastic case. I thought that with the included power adapter this would be enough for two USB 3.0 hard drives and a CD/DVD, but I was wrong. None of these devices fully power up and they all sit and buzz or click when plugged into this USB hub, even if each is the only device in the hub at any given time. This should work on my platform: Dell, Intel i5 processor, 8GB RAM…

  • Glitter

Great little hub for networking products

I've had this hub for 5 months now and I can say it works fine on my Mac. Features 3 regular USB 3.0 ports and 1 Super Speed (Fast Charge) port. I use Super Speed to charge my iPod, iPhone and iPad mini. Sometimes the computer says the device isn't charging, but I look at the device and it shows the charging icon and is actually charging at a reasonable rate. I use it with power and have used all four at the same time - no problem. One port is dedicated to an external drive (time machine)…

Pros
  • Easy to set up
Cons
  • Problems

Fast hub, great optics - too short cable included!

Just what I needed for a desktop setup. I only have 2 USB 3.0 ports on the back of my tower so I use these to fill the need for more 3.0 ports. The port on the side is supposed to be a powered USB port, but for some reason it didn't charge my iPad. Haven't tried anything else. All 4 ports have a speed of 3.0 (tested). NOTE: COMES WITH A SHORT USB3 CABLE! So you can buy a longer cable.

Pros
  • Delightful
Cons
  • Incredible piggy bank

Bought it for the Raspberry Pi. This hub.

Bought for use with Raspberry Pi. This hub allows me to power the Pi and my Gechic 2501c screen from the same outlet. Most importantly, it doesn't deliver power over the data cable, which could bypass the Pi's fuse. Of course this is a mess of cables when I have it all together, but it works exactly the way I want it to!

Pros
  • Feels good
Cons
  • Sad packaging

Unfortunately, it doesn't work without a power supply.

Everything is fine, but unfortunately it doesn't work without a DC power pack. I want someone to mention this. I've tried several USB drives and most don't show up at all unless you plug in an external power supply. One of my three USB sticks was recognized. The one that worked only ran at USB 1.0 speeds and said to connect a USB 2.0 hub to get the best speed (that's funny news for a USB 3.0 hub). After plugging in the power adapter, it worked as advertised. other USB hubs that are great for…

Pros
  • Absolute legend
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Powerful USB 3.0 Hub

Great stuff. It has 4 USB 3.0 slots for your devices. Another is on the back for connection to a computer. It has great power. I can charge my Kindle Fire, Galaxy S3 and use an external hard drive at the same time. The USB 3.0 cable that should be connected to your computer is quite short. About 1.5-2 feet so I replaced it with the one I had. This thing works without the included power adapter, but it only works with your computer. I was wondering why it wasn't charging, even though I could see

Pros
  • Useful beyond its intended purpose
Cons
  • Can do harm
