First device failed - second works fine

What attracted me at this point was the ability to clone my existing SSID. While not a true mesh network, it seems to work seamlessly as I move around the house. Our main WiFi tops out at over 100Mbps, but the remote office was inconsistent and clear. The first block I received was defective. Base unit and expander did not talk to each other. I was a bit disappointed with the tech support and it took almost two hours to convince them that the device was defective. Revain sent replacements. The…

Pros
  • Cool
Cons
  • Hard to tell

The best I can say about them is that they work great when they work! The problem is "if they work". I got two of these sets to get two WiFi extenders (I didn't realize at the time they sold that separately), one for the bottom floor that connects to my Linux box (which also acts as my internet router ) and one for the top floor on the opposite side of the house. They have replaced several older AV600 and AV1000 units and have definitely improved the overall network speed throughout my house…

Not easy to install if you are not tech savvy.

First of all I want to say that I'm not tech savvy so I bought this product. I read a few reviews that said it was easy to install, just plug it in, press a few buttons and you're done. The instructions are poor with minimal information and the website is no better for troubleshooting. I've searched YouTube for installation videos but haven't found anything recent. I need this because we have poor cell coverage but our phones can use Wi-Fi. Due to poor cellular service, my call to support kept…

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not as thick as others

Good for anyone who is an AT&T Uverse subscriber please read this! I need to hook up the Uverse wireless receivers upstairs in my apartment. The Uverse Wireless Access Point, or more commonly referred to as a WAP, must be connected directly to the AT&T modem's Ethernet port. I had to move the WAP up for the Uverse wireless receivers because the wireless receivers ALWAYS lose signal. FYI: AT&T receivers only use the WAP signal and have NOTHING to do with WiFi performance at the receiver's…

Much slower than Google Wifi/Mesh

Let me preface this 1. I know the advertised speed will never be close2. I'm a fairly techy person, but the method I used may not really work. I have 600Mbps and am using a Gigabit rated Nighthawk router and then also a Google Wi-Fi mesh. I wanted to find a way to increase the speed, but we literally have an ethernet port. I was already using Google Mesh and knew it was just another mesh device but wanted to see if it could outperform my Google device as it is designed and will be designed for…

Pros
  • Useful for more than it's intended purpose
Cons
  • Can I add something

Don't waste your money

Worst customer service. I've moved so I had to reconnect to a different router and everyone said there was something wrong with the wiring. It's a brand new complex that I'm the first tenant to move into and it's a super modern upscale apartment and he tells me you're kidding. No mention of replacing or providing a loan after spending money on it and the hours spent on someone else's machines for an hour and a half wasted my day. Do not buy. Look for other top brands with a famous name.

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • Not sure

Works Network Adapter

I have been using Trendline Powerline products for many years. I recently purchased a version with WIFI over power line for my detached garage that is at least 300 feet from the house electrical box. Works great. ********Update***** OK the device started dropping internet every night and didn't hit the mark as I had cameras in the garage. Trendnet has a firmware update that needs to be done on this device that claims to fix the problem. I had major trouble updating the firmware and spent ages…
