Less padding than expected but good

I am a woman who bought the men's version because I hate short shorts. Don't even get me started on diatribes from manufacturers saying women of all sizes should like tiny 4 inch shorts so our thighs can stick together when we sweat so we have to run like cowboys or something. Size than I might be supposed to be (I have a waist of about 33-34 with large buttocks and hips) but the medium fit quite well - just a little tight around the hips and I could probably use more room for the buttocks…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons

no joke; You literally saved my ass.

I thought they were bulky, useless and expensive but they work discreetly under board shorts. separately. but that's personal preference, not necessarily. High Speed + Longboards + Hills + 50 Year Old Skeleton = Get them if you meet similar criteria. (Update: 1 year of ownership; still held together. Both inseams require 2"-3" reinforcement stitches. Carefully removed the pads and they + shorts were hand washed then hung to dry every other day. Like new. I have the shape traced the padding…

I've tried over six different thigh and buttock protectors. I'm in my 40's trying to learn to roller skate at an intermediate level. They need to prevent injuries more than ever now that they are taking so long to heal. This is one of the few guards I've found that covers the trochanter (the part of the leg bone that extends further than the hips on either side). This is the spot that constantly hurts when I fall on my side, and most pads have a big fat hole between the pads right there. This…

Button! Confidence = Pleasure

I use them for roller skating now and one day for skating or snowboarding/skiing. Safety was my main reason for buying it, but the added confidence is the best part. I feel like now I can really learn and push new boundaries. They are comfortable and true to size for compression shorts. I would compare them to Nike or Under Armor compression shorts. That kind of tight fit was important to me because of course they have to be worn under whatever pants or shorts you wear. What keeps me from…

Helps you keep going after a fall

I'm in my 40's and learning to skateboard. Tried to jump on the quarter pipe but hit me pretty hard in the side and had to put an end to it (breaking the mental block of leaning forward is hard). This happened two different times. Both times I had to stop riding for a day and lick my wounds. Decided to look for lined shorts and these popped up. Bought her. carried her. I fell a few more times trying to get on the quarter pipe and finally made it. Although I felt the fall on my side, the…

Failing to find balance

I just need thick padding to protect my tailbone and thighs while learning to skate at age 37. I don't care how I look. These shorts, like others, appear to be discreet so they can be worn under clothing. I'm about to fall, what do I care if I look like I'm wearing a diaper? It's stupid to aim for a skinny profile because it means the shorts aren't really doing what they're supposed to do: protect. Cons: - The padding is similar to the material of a yoga mat. It might offer a good fit when…
