Fits my 1992 Mercedes-Benz 400E (W124; M119)

Drove well. This part is very difficult to remove and install as the space where it is located is very limited. Works like clockwork with no problems so far.

Pros
  • High strength alloy or composite construction resists engine overheating and vibration
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Just Won't Work - Timing Parts

Claimed to fit my 1992 MBZ 400SE, took it to the shop, installed it in 30 minutes and couldn't adjust the tension! A tensioner that couldn't adjust the belt tension? My mechanic spent two hours adjusting it and still couldn't get it to work. Went to local parts store to buy a new one, installed in 10 minutes, adjusted belt tension and works like new!

Pros
  • Fit Type: Vehicle Specific
Cons
  • Expensive

Works perfectly! See engine parts

I didn't want to buy because of the previous bad rating. Bought one out of necessity and a previous purchase of a set of coolant hoses from UR0 hoses - the hoses were good quality. I don't know what mechanic has to spend 2 hours ($100 motivation an hour?) to realize they have a faulty tensioner!?!? Installation took 15 minutes.1. Set the pointer to the upper mark - 2 sec2. Insert the adjustment rod into the hole for 2 mins (some manipulation is required) 3. Hand tighten the main bolt and…

Pros
  • . Coil spring (where applicable) matches original equipment spring rate for correct belt tension at all engine speeds
Cons
  • . The list will go on.
