I bought this mat because of the wonderful reviews it received. It sounded perfect! Thick enough to protect my knees and head, sticky enough for my hands and feet to stay in place and oh-so-pretty!But it just wasn't sticky. AT ALL. I've never had this problem before so imagine my surprise when I was slipping in down dog. And in various warrior positions. My gosh, it was so distracting!So while this is such a beautiful mat, I am returning it because it isn't doing its job :(

This is the best yoga mat I've ever owned. It's so comfortable and my wrists don't hurt like they have on other mats. I highly recommend this mat to anyone who practices regularly. And just a side note, the purple mat is a lot more purple in person than in the photo. Doesn't bother me but good to know if you fell in love with color in the photos.

The mat is very pretty and the thickness is great but it's way too slippery! Wish there was something I could put on there to fix it but looks like I'll need to buy something else.

I have been using this mat a little over 4 months now. I use it about 4 to 5 times a week for Barre and Yoga Flow classes. I am finding that the mat isn't as durable as I had hoped. It is starting to tare where my toes and hands make contact with the mat. I absolutely love the color and I was able to bring it to class a day after it arrived. It didn't have a lingering new mat smell.

i love this mat. It is the right thickness (not too thick or thin). It does not slip in normal conditions. The mat is light to carry. I wore one like it out after many years and tried a couple of rubber mats that I did not care for. I also have tried others which were promptly donated. Hands down this mat is my first choice.

Not only is this mat super thick, but the color and design are beautiful. I got a ton of compliments on the appearance, but the functionality is what won my heart. The grip is amazing (don't forget to wipe it down with warm soapy water first), it has no smell and the length was more than enough for me (I'm 5'1"). I really like the colors of this mat as well as the thickness! It is such a nice treat to do yoga with a mat as nice as this. It's also easy to find in a classroom full of single color mats. It did have a relatively strong odor when it first arrived, but I just opened it up near an open window in a spare bedroom and the smell was gone pretty quickly (within 3 days.) The beauty of the mat is worth the slight inconvenience of an initial odor.

I got this light-weight mat for my beau. I use a thin, heavy warhorse mat (the Hugger Mugger Tapas Performance) which I adore for its stability and lack of squishiness. I test-drove this lighter mat during a Bikram class (with a YogiToes towel over top; you definitely need something, but that's the case with any mat for hot yoga). Great mat - thicker than I expected, but doesn't matter. Works well - I'll still slip a bit if sweaty, but I have yet to hear of a mat that totally prevents slipping when sweating during a class (no, I don't do Bikram yoga, but a lot of strength based classes).

I am new to yoga. Prior to buying this mat.I purchased a common brand name mat from a large retailer. The smell was so horrible! The mat was in my car and I thought something was wrong with my car until it realized it was my yoga mat! I quickly returned it and after a lot of research bought this mat. I have used it a few times and really love it. There is no toxic smell.It has a nice cushion to it and the color is the best. Very happy with my new mat.Would recommend.

I have only used this mat about 10 times since I received it, and have found that it's very slippery. It's been the same each time I've used it. For example, in downward dog, my hands slide forward and off of the mat. I have to use a towel for a lot of poses and did not anticipate having to do so based on other reviews. Wouldn't recommend.

I have a hard time finding a yoga mat in a color I don't mind staring at for an hour and a half. Patterns make me dizzy and some of my favorite colors would give me a headache during down dog.
