Description of Optimized for SEO: Victorinox 7 Inch Swiss Classic Santoku Knife with Granton Blade

The Japanese Santoku knife means "three uses" which refers to its excellence in slicing, dicing, and mincing. Combines features of a cleaver with a chef's knife while the Granton blade flutes make paper thin slices and prevent food from sticking to blade. Contemporary handle inspired by our Fibrox Pro line is textured, ergonomic, and slip-resistant and is paired with lightweight European steel for a perfectly balanced design. Expertly crafted in Switzerland since 1884; designed for professionals who use knives all day, every day; lifetime warranty against defects in material and workmanship. Please NOTE that this item ships with international item number 6.8523.17 on the blade and not 6.8523.17US1 but is the same 7" Swiss Classic Santoku.

sharp and strong good kitchen knife

wanted a santoku knife and looked at this and others, I had good experience with Victoinox and it was not disappointing, some people say it's light don't know it there is nothing to compare. The blade is sharp, well held and strong, without hesitation and unexpected bends. cuts very well, from carrots to cheese. I wish it had all the logos printed on it but it was enough to make sure it was the real Victoinox. Since all others are listed as selling the same model, this was the best deal.

Same knife with different handle

I originally had a Victorinox Santoku, it's a workhorse and I love it. Easy to sharpen, keeps sharpening. But what I like best is the FAT Fibrox grip. So I was a little disappointed when I received this knife. The handle is made of Fibrox but as you can see in the photo the handle is not that thick. It has a cutout in the middle of the handle. The knife appears to be identical except for the handle. And believe me, it makes the knife look completely different. I will use it more and update my…

Pros
  • High test scores for grip and durability
Cons
  • Not as thick as others

Sharp knife, disappointing handle

Pros: This knife is sharp. He cut through raw potatoes like butter. The blade is really fantastic. Bad: wow. The grip is really terrible. It's cheap, ultra-lightweight plastic. Blades like these need some weight to get a good grip. I wish I had listened to other reviews warning about the lame grip. I will keep it though as the blade is very good. It's just not the knife I was hoping for. I've used this brand before and I've never seen them come with such terrible grips. I will think twice…

Santuko quality Asian knives

Sharp, well balanced and durable. You can buy more sophisticated and expensive. It is excellent for slicing, dicing and simple chopping. For heavier cuts the blade may be too thin and the handles a little small for my large hands. But leave it for what it's made for and it should work very well. The top and handle should have no problems getting wet or after normal washing. I have a brother with a fancy wooden handle and I don't use it anymore as the water has dried it out too much. Looks nice,

Better than expected

I first tried the santoku this winter while renting an apartment in Florida. The brand that was there was Henckels and I was amazed at how it slipped through everything I tried on. So I knew I would need my own when I got home. I did a little research and decided on Victorinox. While I like my knives to be a little heavier, I felt the lighter weight Santoku would be better. I used it for 2 days and it's better than I expected! I eat at least 2 large salads every day, so I really enjoy using…

VERY light, thin blade, small handle

This review is for the Santoku Victorinox 7" Swiss Classic knife with a Granton blade (because Revain is confusing all the reviews). and for someone with very small hands and the Arm strength of a two year old Although the knife comes very sharp out of the box, the blade is very thin and appears to be made of tinfoil In my hand it looks like a cheap $5 Walmart knife Because the handle of the blade is completely plastic plated, it remains a mystery how much metal there is, but after using this…

Another great offer from Victorinox!

Fantastic knife! I have a full set of Victorinox (formerly Forschner) and a few extra chef's knives and this santoku knife is just as good as the others. It's instantly razor sharp and is easy to sharpen in the Chef's Choice Trizor XV. Fibrox grip offers excellent grip (wet, dry or even slightly greasy). The stainless steel blade does not discolour. I regularly clean all my Victorinox knives in the dishwasher (for years!). The only problem with the dishwasher is that the handle is left with a…

Pros
  • Japanese Santoku knife means 'three uses' indicating its excellent performance in slicing, slicing and chopping

Surprised by the performance of the knife

I I cook a lot, that means I cook a lot. I've always been a proponent of buying quality knives and a huge fan of Zwilling JAHenckels. Last year I bought a small Victorinox paring knife for my kitchen on wheels. The more I used it, the more I liked it. Because of this positive experience I bought this Santoku. Once you get used to the fact that you don't need a lot of weight to cut properly, this knife really starts to shine. I have since purchased their 6 inch chef's knife and am glad I did. I…
