Make sure your dog is big enough for it!

This bowl is great except for one thing: it's too big for my puppy (3 months) to use 😭 I'm going to stop using it until he gets bigger (he's going to be like 100lbs so it should be a problem in a couple of months). Outside of that (which was my error so I won't knock a star for) the bowl is great! Easy to clean an the rubber on the bottom is very helpful.

Pros
  • Ideal for multiple pets, as the puzzle bowl can be shared
Cons
  • Can be frustrating to fill with smaller-kibble size pet foods

Not for large dogs: my feedback

Great design, but much smaller than I was expecting. I can't use it to feed my lab, it holds one and a half cups of food completely filled to the top, better off with just one cup so your dog doesn't lick the food everywhere. I feed my dogs 2 cups per feeding and I don't have time to sit and wait while she eats the first to add a second. I was really hoping it was big enough. Oh well. It seems sturdy. It rinsed clean, but I'll be giving it to someone with a smaller dog.

Pros
  • Provides an alternative to traditional feeding methods
Cons
  • May not be as effective in slowing down eating if the pet is determined enough

Great product! for my opinion

This product is very well made and came in nice packaging in case someone wants to gift it.This slowed our Labrador down a lot. She no longer inhales her food and no longer vomits after eating. She doesn’t seem to mind eating out of this bowl either and is able to reach all of the food even in the tighter places.

Pros
  • Can help reduce the risk of bloating and gastrointestinal problems
Cons
  • Cannot be used for water, which means another bowl is needed for hydration

I got this bowl for my two cats. They absolutely hated switching to this and it was a struggle for them for a few days. My cat that would normally throw up his food daily has not puked in over 2 weeks now, it's amazing! I rated this four stars because the only bad thing about it is that it slides all over the floor. My poor cats will push this bowl across the room trying to get food out.

Pros
  • Travel-friendly and easy to pack
Cons
  • May not fit in all feeding stations

Slowed Him Down 1min to 3!

Definitely slowed down our lab/golden retriever pup, he is 8mos and has the puppy mentally fighting for his food. Typically he would eat his food in a quick minute.I mean ALL of it that quick. With this after reading multiple reviews we got it to see and it has slowed him down some but he still eats quick, I'd 3min now which is improvement. Only downfall is I wish it held more food, as the depth leaves some food piled on top.

Pros
  • Safe for use with wet and dry pet food
Cons
  • Not suitable for pets on a raw food diet

It has only been a couple of weeks that we have been feeding our dog from this amazing dish. I am cautiously optimistic because she has not thrown up once in that time. It has at least doubled the time it takes her to eat and that seems to have made all the difference. She also raises her head and actually chews the kibble instead of just swallowing a mouthful whole. If nothing else has helped, I would certainly give these a try.

Pros
  • Can be used as a training tool for behavioral modification
Cons
  • Size and shape may not fit in with existing home decor

It's a WINNER! on my review.

We have a beagle, and when it comes to food, well, they act as if each meal is their last one AND they have 3 seconds in which to enjoy it. Seriously, she chokes herself! This thing solved that problem AND she seems to be amused by it (well, as amused as a beagle - who are cat-like by nature is capable of amusement with a plastic bowl).

Pros
  • Anti-skid design prevents spills and messes
Cons
  • Can be difficult to clean out small pieces of food stuck in the maze

Works wonderfully! for my opinion

We got it for Christmas for our adult King Charles Cavalier and it is working very well for him. He used to eat his meal very fast - 30-45 seconds. With this bowl it takes him 10 minutes and he is able to get all the food out of the bowl. Still the same portion, just a slower pace to get it.He does not seem bothered by the bowl at all and I wonder if it’s actually a game to him because he loves his homemade food so much - it allows him time to enjoy it.

Pros
  • Encourages slower, more natural eating patterns
Cons
  • May not work as well with wet or messy foods

Great bowl for Boston Terriers

We bought this for our Boston Terrier that is very food-focused and eats his entire meal in about 2 minutes when food is spread out on a cookie sheet. He also has VERY bad and frequent gas, probably because he eats fast and swallows air. This feeder increased his eating time to 12 minutes. LOVE IT! Now if he learns to tip it over and knock the food out, it might get fewer stars! :)

Pros
  • Cats
Cons
  • Can be a little expensive compared to other slow feeder bowls

Slowed our min pin waaaaaaay down!

Our min pin eats his food like a vacuum cleaner. He never chews his food and litterally inhales it. Its gone in a few seconds. This bowl forces him to slow down. Now it takes about a minute for him to eat instead of a few seconds. Hoping it prevents any tummy issues now that he's a super senior.

Pros
  • Helps slow down your pet's eating pattern, reducing the risk of choking and vomiting
Cons
  • Some pets might be able to tip the bowl over while eating

This bowl is fabulous. Got it for my daughter for Christmas. She can't feed her dog out of a regular bowl because the dog will bolt her food in less than a minute. But sometimes the dog gets tired of chasing kongs around the kitchen for every meal. This provides a nice alternative. It keeps her busy and makes her work, while allowing her to still sit quietly and eat, unlike the kongs. There are some disadvantages though. This will not stand up to heavy chewers left unsupervised. The dog can…

Pros
  • Durable and long-lasting
Cons
  • Other pets may not respect the slow feeder and try to eat from it as well

Good Quality Bowl good for me

We ordered this about a week ago as a replacement for another puzzle-type bowl. The material seems durable and it is a challenge for our dog to eat out of this bowl, which was the point. I would say it works better than the last bowl we had. My only negative would be that the bowl is shallow. I suppose that adds to the difficulty for the dog because it keeps tight little spaces. I don't know if this would work for a large dog. Our dog eats about 2/3 cup of dry food, plus some wet mixed in. That

Pros
  • Can help your pet's appetite return after surgery or illness
Cons
  • May not be suitable for pets who are used to eating from a certain type of bowl

Works well! for my opinion

Works really well. until my dog chewed it up. Lol It definitely slowed her eating though and I guess it made a good chew toy when she was bored afterward but even still, it lasted months after she started chewing it. For a high energy German shepherd pup it was a godsend. She would choke on her food before we got this bowl. She’s slowed enough now that a regular bowl will do but I’m thankful we had this one for the first 5 months.

Pros
  • The blue color is visually appealing, brightening up any feeding area
Cons
  • Not suitable for pets with other feeding needs, such as slow-cookers or heat-based food dispensers

Great product in my review

Bought this for our Frenchie who would inhale her meals in less than a minute (then regurgitate). This slowed her way down and she can now keep all of her meals down! The first few times it took her almost 10 minutes to eat, but then she got the hang of it and now takes her about 5 minutes, which is perfect!

Pros
  • 8 x 8 x 1.9 inches; 8.01 Ounces
Cons
  • Some pets may not take to the bowl right away

My poor little dog.

He just can't get his food out of this dish. He is a ravenous eater, so I really hoped it would do what everybody says - but he tries for several minutes and simply can't get the food out. Looks up at us mournfully and tries again and again, can't do it. He is a pretty smart 20# pomeranian/chihuahua (with an overbite - maybe that's the issue?). Still, sorry it just didn't work out here.

Pros
  • Regular use can improve your pet's immune system
Cons
  • Can be a hassle to bring outside or to clean outdoors

Perfect bowl to slow down fast eaters

We have a 5-month old border collie who, from the day we got her, would eat her meal in no more than 5 seconds if we put it in a normal bowl. No chewing; just inhaling her food as fast as possible. So for the first couple months we had to feed her using a food dispensing bobble toy. This worked, but it was a pain to fill, it was noisy, and it left food crumbs all over the floor. Finally we decided to look for a slow feed bowl and came across this one. This bowl solved our problem! We poured in…

Pros
  • Can alleviate digestive problems such as flatulence and upset stomachs
Cons
  • Creates additional dishes to clean after each use

Quality for the $$ best in my review

This was the perfect feeder! Its design, color & durability is quality. Size is perfect for our 25lb rescue pup. Slowed her eating time, maybe not by half but close.

Pros
  • Suitable for both cats and dogs of all ages and sizes
Cons
  • Not suitable for pets with food allergies
