Video on Youtube + This = Sharp Knife!

I watched a YouTube video and only spent about 5 minutes sharpening my favorite knife and now it's razor sharp. I used to use the "steel" that came with my knife set, but using a whetstone really gives it a good sharpness. The only problem is that I don't want anyone else in the house using the knife as it's very sharp (again).

Great whetstone on whetstones

This is a good starter whetstone, easy to practice, works well. 400/1000 grit seems correct. 400 only if blades are in poor condition, chipped etc. Using 1000 and brushing afterwards is enough for you to shave your hair. There is no booklet or anything like that, and the grains are not labeled. . Dark side 400, light side 1000.

it is very good. Apparently

Assuming the local courier doesn't play football with the packaging it comes in, it's pretty good. Obviously fragile. It's impossible to compete with the "ez" type hand-sharpened sharpener blades you see in the ads. This stone gives a good difference in grit to sharpen a fairly unhealthy blade well and doesn't require the whole kit. He does what he has to do and he does it well.

Eliminate imperfections!

This coarse-grained whetstone is ideal for preparing old and blunt knives that need to be sharpened on a fine-grained stone. The edge of one of my good knives looked like someone was trying to cut through barbed wire. After ten minutes on each side of the stone, the edge was smooth and flawless. After hitting the fine-grain stone knife, I cut onions and apples like hot butter! I would soak this stone for 12-24 hours before using it. Absorbs water like a sponge. When sharpening, the surface must

Great stone at a fantastic price

I have been using this stone to hand sharpen my knives for 2 months. The stone has become perfectly smooth. Simply soak for 15 minutes and occasionally wet while sharpening, done. With 400 grit you can quickly get rid of burrs on your knives and with 1000 grit the cutting edge is polished. Then apply a strip with a green composition, and in less than 15 minutes your hair will be fluttering. I recently bought a knife that had a large nick on the blade as if someone had hit it with the blade of…

At first I wasn't impressed.

So I wasn't impressed at first. I've only used it for a few minutes on each side to no avail. I watched an online video of a chef using his stone and he sharpened his knife on each stone for 10 minutes before moving on to a finer grit. I took this clue and sharpened my knife on each side of this stone for 10 minutes, resulting in perfection. I have a 2008 chef's knife that I've never used because it's so blunt that it can't be sharpened with traditional sharpening. / Rod. The steel appears to…

Good Quality: Hand Tools

Great price for a sharpener. Both sides are intact with no chips or cracks. To use this, drop it in a bucket of water for about 16 hours. Then, very gently, make 100 passes on each side, starting with a 400 grit. Once you've found the angle of the blade, begin rocking your body backwards to move the blade forward. not your hands. It takes about 400 passes in total to find the right blade angle. Remember to pour water on the stone from time to time to keep it clean. The end result looks amazing…

The logo changes grain.

I've been using this stone for a few months now and have found that while the thin side offers a nice sharp edge, the 400g side wears my knives unevenly so I can't sharpen the full length of the Blade exactly at the transition to the thin side. The logo in the middle of the 400 gram side of the knife ensures that it removes more material than the rest of the blade when sweeping. I even verified this by walking straight along the thin side and observing the wear marks coming from the material…
