To be honest I can't understand all the bad reviews. People who give it a star just say "you don't like it" without explaining why? I love this little gadget for several reasons. If I use a small ball of yarn or even a larger cake, the dispenser stays in place with no problem. I even used a large strand on it and it works great. I was looking for something like this and I was glad I bought it. It is great for storing skeins of yarn as well as regular skeins. I especially appreciate it for some of the "more flexible" skein styles. I use it for crocheting and have found that the slight tension it puts on the yarn helps keep my size accurate. The only issue I have (and why this rating is 4 and not 5) is that some yarns, especially boucle and soft twists, tend to get stuck in the holes in the base of the spindle. I'm not…

I like this idea. This article is really handy and useful. I think with a little reworking it could be perfect. But like that, not really.
