I've never had a pocket organizer. I literally put the yarn in tote bags or large wallets that I don't use. This bag is functional. There are six steel ring holes on the top of the bag. These openings are accessible via three zippers. They have two openings in each zippered compartment. I was able to get two 7.5 oz. The bag is ok, I like it when the yarn is separated from the drum where everything gets tangled. But there's one major downside that I didn't realize before buying and wasn't seen in any of the reviews I've read: if you start a project with yarn in a bag, there's no way to delete the yarn/ Project.
