Terrible quality when buying the last two Rowenta irons

Terrible quality when buying the last two Rowenta irons. I bought this product to replace another Rowenta iron which broke down within 1 year of purchase. This unit failed 1 month after the warranty expired. Both devices were made in Germany, so I figured I'd avoid Chinese quality issues by buying a product designed and made in Germany. Rowenta doesn't seem to be a feature anymore - look elsewhere for your iron, or keep a spare one handy.

upset. in irons and steamers

I am very disappointed with Rowenta. I paid over $70 first and it started leaking after a few months. Then a few months later the top piece of white plastic fell off and then ripped off completely. I'm not picky about the iron and only use it for ironing. I don't hammer nails or anything like that. So the quality wasn't what I expected, but then when I spoke to the company about it, they said it was out of warranty and I had to take it to a service center for repair. Excellent. I understand the

Read negative reviews!

I am a quilter. My iron is paramount so please listen to me and anyone else complaining about leaking Rowenta irons! IS THAT SO! I've been an avid Rowenta user for over 30 years but a few years ago I bought their most expensive iron to replace my old Rowenta which had lasted over a decade. And after 11/2 years the new one started to flow. Then I bought another one. And he also started pouring the water this morning. I am NOT a happy tourist. ROWENTA YOU DESTROY HER REPUTATION! Everyone in my…

This iron works great. Make sure you choose Rowenta.

The iron works great. Make sure you choose a Rowenta that is made in Germany and not made in China where the parts are cheaper. I was replacing a German made Rowenta that I've had for almost nine years that has been dropped on the floor many times by passing kids bumping into my ironing board. The weld between the plate and the housing had completely come loose, water was spurting out, making repairs impossible. I bought another Rowenta without hesitation. This one has more steam power than my…

Wonderful iron! in ironing

I quilt and have my iron plugged in and ready to use almost every day. I recently bought a replacement iron from a large store and was very disappointed and looked for an alternative. Then I watched a YouTube video where a popular quilter demonstrated her appliqué technique and she mentioned how much she loves the iron. I paused the video to see what model it was and ended up ordering this one. i love it too! It has a large storage tank that produces vapor for quite a long time. The holes in…

Bye Bye Rowenta Iron

This was the fourth Rowenta Pro Steam Iron I've bought. Each of them have had the same problem over the years, they leaked. I liked how well they all worked before they started leaking, but I use a lot of vapor so leaks were an issue. For the price I paid I expected them to last longer than they did. I usually use about 3-5 years before it starts leaking. They all still work great dry but I need steam! I was careful never to drop the last one I bought and treated it very carefully, but it…

Nobody makes good iron anymore!

This is the fourth Rowenta iron I've bought in a decade. Each model developed a serious defect within one to four years. The two earliest and most expensive models just stopped warming up. All four irons were leaking within a short time. Having put my clothes on the ironing board intermittently since purchase, water is now pouring out of the bottom of this DW8080 Rowenta that I now own. Authorized Rowenta service personnel acknowledged that many Rowenta models used "poor seals" and a few years…

Came doesn't work as it should.

This is my first high end iron that I paid over $25 for. I've bought dozens of steam irons in the past and this is the first one that doesn't work right out of the box. The steam boost button only worked when the iron was in a vertical position, rendering my iron unusable. The steam boost only worked in the ironing position: if you press the button several times in the vertical position, it works once in the ironing position. Also, I have to press the button 4-5 times for it to start producing…

Not as good as Rowenta DW5080

My last iron was Rowenta DW5080. I bought it in November 2016. It worked great but since a year or so the power cord connection inside the iron must have worn out causing the iron to lose power from time to time. I fixed the problem by tying the power cord in a certain spot and used it that way until November 2018 when the connection eventually got so bad it stopped working at all. Two years of almost daily use. Not bad, but not great either. I chose the 8080 because I thought it would be an…
