Amazing product and customer service

I am very happy with the purchase of this socket. I have a MacBook Pro with only 2 USB ports, one of which powers the cooling pad that the MBP sits on. The other connects to a Satechi 12-port USB hub with a power adapter and two control switches. At the moment I have the following devices using the hub at the same time with no problems: an HP color printer/fax combo, two external hard drives, my iPhone and my Kindle. Neither hard drive is externally powered, but the hub has no problem powering…

Works great, easy to install and use

If you're like me, you have tons of USB devices like dongles, external hard drives, phones, tablets, etc. and you work with all those USB devices. can become a pain. If you don't mind having all your stuff plugged into the front of your computer, you'll have to get on all fours and fight dustballs to get to the back of your processor. God forbid when you get back there all your USB ports will be full. I used to use an El Cheapo hub that I bought for an end cap at a discount electronics store…

Problem with all working devices UPDATE

UPDATE December 3: After contacting the manufacturer, a replacement was sent and the return shipping of the defective product was paid for. Installed today, works. If it doesn't work again, I'll let you know. But so far so good. I am impressed with the manufacturer's customer service. My email reporting the problem was responded to within 48 hours and a replacement product was shipped with minimal email shipping. Because of this I changed my score to 3. Update: I finally took the time to…

My experience has improved a lot!

This is an addition to my original review. Apparently when I bought what I thought was an item I was redirected to a seller who is NOT Satechi. I didn't notice the difference when I ordered and paid for the device. When it arrived it was incomplete and therefore unusable. I thought I had contacted the manufacturer through Revain but it was (apparently) a fake vendor. They stated that the item was out of stock and would not be available again. They helped me a bit but I'm still stuck with…

The best I've found.

1. USB hub designs are some of the most idiotic, pointless, useless ideas I've ever seen. I spent an hour trying to find a USB hub that doesn't fall into this category.2. They spent a lot of money on packaging. But they forgot to tell you that it comes with a 3-foot plug-to-plug USB extension cable. But they didn't forget to write it on a white pen, on a barcode sticker. It says wi.dapter and 2 control switches. The Wi adapter is the perfect length USB extension cable.3. Thank God: on the…

Reliable USB connections with lots of ports.

I have bought 5 of these hubs for my various computers and am happy with each one. Communication with the computer is very reliable. (My previous hub turned itself off when I plugged it in - what a pain!) One end of the hub is a small "pigtail" with a USB connector. At the opposite end of the hub is USB port 12. This design makes it easy to daisy chain multiple ports. Connect it to your computer with the included USB extension cable - just plug one end into the pigtail and the other end into…

It seems to work until it stops.

Satechi 12-Port Hub looked exactly how I wanted it. I don't need 12 devices connected (6 max) but I/want/know that I have a free port when I need it. I have had my device for about 2 years. During this time I noticed that I was plugging into my computer and not a hub. Why? The hub just never worked very well. With USB sticks I had very poor performance and occasional read/write errors. With my Garmin ANT+ joystick, the connection sometimes broke randomly. There were always small issues that I…
