Husband had shoulder surgery and these worked great. Able to rotate between the two so he had constant access to ice. The product may not be able to provide relief for certain types of joint or muscle pain.

I have lower back pain. as a result, I haven't actually used the belt(s) yet. I just loosen my belt, insert the packbetween my pans and shirt snug belt an get instant relief. The belts will come in handy when icing a shoulder, neck or knee.

Any ice pack will provide some pain relief - it depends on how much pain you are in. If you are thinking about getting one, get THIS kit. For an extra few dollars, you will get 2 packs, that are larger in each direction than the standard 5x10", that are well made and easily fit across the small of your back and 2 additional strap extensions that will give you all sorts of ways to attach the pack to your body securely. A big help with broken ankle. I hate ice and tend to avoid it. This was so comfortable and easy to use. Velcro was snug without being tight. I used it a lot.

I sprained my ankle & on week 3 ordered this product. I kept one in the freezer & one @ room temp for heat (use the microwave-under 60 seconds to full heat). The overall product is great! My only complaint & the reason for 4/5 stars is due to the Velcro. Both pieces, the one that holds the cold/hot pack in the sleeve & the one that is on the strap used to secure to your body. It is not in the demonstration that it is for the neck but it should be. Otherwise you could not walk around with it on. Why have it if you can't attach it comfortably Is to be mobile?

I purchased these after a rotator cuff injury and they have been great!They are large enough to wrap over the top of the shoulder and the cloth pouch/sling is helpful for keeping the cold of the skin directly and holding the ice pack in place.Plus having two of them means there can always be one in the freezer!
