Unreliable holder

Not tested yet but the cable holds up. However, I wish there was a way to make it tighter. It looks more like a loop than a bracket.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Only available in white

Excellent goods! Best in Electrical Engineering

Works much better than the otherwise identical green plastic wire managers that these 3M wire managers replace. The green plastic cable guides break at the location of the mounting screw.

Pros
  • 1 year trial
Cons
  • Legacy model

OK, but other stackers are safer

These stackers are "regular" but I prefer the red cord stackers from the big stores that have a screw AND nail to hold the stacker in place (the I throw away the supplied screws bundled with these staplers, use #10 self-tapping screws and fasten with a cordless screwdriver). The red jobbies have a "locking" mechanism that keeps your cables in place on the stacker, which I liked better than the "notches" on the 3M stackers. Essentially, the red stackers are "safer in your frame" and the cables…

Invaluable for clean and neat hyped runs.

I'm a decent person, not an electrician. I love my Romex to run straight and smooth and I hate nailing my work over and over again. When running wires through an open joist bay, it's incredibly frustrating to hold the wires "just like that" without pinning them down prematurely, especially when I know there's more to come. So throwing a few of those stackers ahead of time goes a long way toward maintaining order (and my peace of mind). Just pull the wire, plug it in and it stays untwisted and…

  • Almost never

Easy way to run Romex bundles (or other wiring)

I have a main run of wire in my basement from the electrical box to my workshop, it's nearly 50 feet long. Instead of nailing each 12/2 wire to the side joists with a bunch of nailing staples, I nailed about 20 of them evenly spaced and stacked the wires on top of each other. This made installation much easier (and quicker) than using clamps or any other method of attaching wires to joists. Required by code so you don't have to measure where you run the wires. However, cable retainers do not…
