Delivered on time, all parts included, relatively easy to install, great addition to my truck. With a triple trunk cover and bed extension that folds inward, it serves as a solid "trunk" without objects flying over the bed. The lid latch handles abut the bed extension, but that can be fixed. If necessary, simply remove completely.

Amp Research has once again raised the bar. Your new XTender MAX is fantastic and even better than the original. I've driven their original for 10 years and LOVE it, but this new model I bought for my dad's truck is even better. Comes partially assembled (thanks!) You'll need to drill 4 holes in your precious truck, but don't worry, the included template and instructions are pretty solid. If you need extra sleeping space, THIS IS THE EXTENSION YOU CAN BUY.

I'm a big fan of AMP Research's products. I installed their BedStep 2 and PowerSteps on my 2015 GMC Sierra Denali. The fit, finish and quality are simply second to none. This product is no different. Like all other products, it looks like it should be an OEM product. It is durable but very light. Easily detachable and also fits in the back seat if you ever leave the house and need to take it off. The straps hook right into the tailgate latches, and when they're latched, this thing doesn't move.

I really like it but I think your installation instructions could be optimized. The instructions do not mention the metric wrench/head required to install the brackets. The drill required is not the usual size that you will find in the kit. I had to buy it separately at the hardware store. Also, on my truck at least, the nut is blind mounted on the back of the bracket giving very limited access space. Pretty disappointed overall. I bought what I believe to be the best tailgate extension and some parts were lacking. I called and spoke to a representative but did not call back or attempt to resolve my issue. First, the kit did not include a template for the holes needed to install the brackets. With some ingenuity and my wife's help, we were able to figure out where to drill the holes and use painter's tape to help us. 3 hours and it's installed. So far so good, just received and easy to install. You will need a drill, a hole punch, drill bits (a smaller one to start the hole and a larger one to finish it. A step drill is the way to go if you have one), a 1/2" wrench and a 1/2 socket, t-25 and tt-15. First remove the taillights so you can use the drilling template. I've read mixed reviews about installing this bed extender on hooded trucks. It will work, but not in the way AMP intended. Installation of everything should be done according to the instructions. The problem occurs when you try to fold the extension back onto the bed. I have a 2017 Silverado with an ARE cover. As you can see from my photos, the extension hits the lid when trying to fold it. My main concern when I bought this for my 2015 Silverado 1500 Ext Cab was that it would prevent access to the rear latch handle on my HardHat branded triple rack, when the extension was inside the bed. I was looking for a bed divider to keep things from rolling around on the bed of my 2017 GMC Sierra 1500. I bought (and promptly returned) a separator from GMC that didn't fit my tonneau triple cover. I didn't think about the bed extension.
