Serious quality control problems.

The only difference between GTO and GTX is a thicker cable and a deeper blade. When I opened it up I found very bad soldering and it was wrapped in tape. The wire was also pinched between the motor and housing. It would fail in the future. Too bad for an American product. No wonder the Chinese are kicking us. The last photo shows the finished product after modifications. UPDATE, just finished for 6 cuts. The deep blade is terrible for pruning, you can't dive with it. Pulls the hair badly…

  • Great construction

Sharp, great design, easy to use

Productivity. If you are looking for a sharp edged trimmer that does the job well then this is the trimmer for you. As the owner of a Wahl 981, I've had a hard time getting a close, close shave. With these trimmers you can shape your hairline; it leaves clean, sharp edges. It's only been a week, but so far these Andis trimmers have exceeded all expectations. If you hate charging the trimmer that's great too as it plugs into an outlet so you can't use it everywhere, but if you use it in one…

Pros
  • Easy to set up
Cons
  • There are more interesting options.

Works perfectly. I'm tired of these twists and turns to fit in.

Works great. I got tired of these twists and turns to adjust the beard trimmers as they sometimes switched to a different setting and mainly because they delivered an uneven cut. This worked perfectly to give a nice straight beard. I haven't learned how to fade yet and I probably won't even try. I didn't release it, but it's been connected ever since. I was hoping I could use this to clean my beard instead of a wet shave, but it doesn't cut close enough and even after zero clearance it won't…

Not for the home hairdresser

Bought because they are very appreciated by hairdressers. They have excellent blades, are extremely powerful and cut with precision. I understand why full time hairdressers really love these trimmers and why they are the industry standard. As a home hairstylist, I've found that they're not exactly perfect. They are heavy, heat up easily and vibrate properly. For my purposes (cutting hair every 2 weeks) I don't need the raw power of this tool. Something light, wireless, fast and convenient like…

  • Useful not only for their intended purpose

Disappointed with hair care

To replace my household clipper that leaves a lot of messy hair, I focused on professional models who thought they should work better. The Andis T trimmer had great reviews but I'll go back to my consumer trimmer. Andis worked well for about 9 months with twice weekly trimming; pretty light load. Then the machine started pulling the hair out of my beard. Cleaned more often, lubricated more abundantly; worse. Exchanged knives, still bad. Contacted Andis after 14 months who wanted $20 for car…

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • May damage

Read the trimmer reviews then buy this one!

I read many reviews before deciding on this trimmer. I'm bald so I wanted something that could cut nice and tight and didn't require a razor. This is professional quality equipment. When you turn it on, it reminds you of the power when it comes alive (don't worry!). The cut is so tight that there is no need to go through it with a razor unless you want it to be shiny and smooth. It's heavy, so probably not a good portable option (thick power cord built in). But just a beast of a machine doing…

Once Andis has your money you can kick stones

The trimmers worked great the first time they were used. They cut clean and work perfectly. A friend is a professional barber and recommended them to me. I had them for about 2 months and I went to use them for the second time and they cut me to the point I was bleeding. I called Andis customer service and the lady informed me that this clipper has a warranty but it does not cover the blade. Looks like one of the teeth broke off. She insisted my scissors would only break if I dropped them. I…
