Description of Bell Spark MIPS Cycling Helmet

Synthetic. FUSION IN-MOLD POLYCARBONATE SHELL - A process pioneered by Bell bonds the helmet's outer shell to the EPS foam liner to create a sturdier helmet. MIPS-EQUIPPED AND ERGO FIT (INTEGRATED WITH MIPS) - MIPS stands for Multi-directional Impact Protection System, which is a leading slip-plane technology inside the helmet designed to reduce rotational forces that can result from certain impacts. What was once ErgoDial now has an improved dial feel and function (no longer requires a push to turn) and is more sleek and less bulky. NO-TWIST TRI-GLIDES - Quick-adjust fasteners that help keep straps flat and properly positioned. SWEAT GUIDE - Sweat Guide pad design pulls moisture away from the brow pad and away from eyewear. SPECIFICATIONS - Universal Adult (54-61 cm) and Universal XL (58-63 cm) sizes; 13 helmet vents.

Great Helmet - Perfect Fit

This helmet fits perfectly and has enough adjustment options for smaller and larger heads. The helmet is equipped with the MIPS system, which provides additional protection in the event of an accident. This makes the helmet a little heavier, but this is not noticeable when you put the helmet on. I highly recommend this helmet. Update, I was in a serious bike accident today September 7th that resulted in my left front of my head hitting the pavement very hard at 20 mph. Luckily I got away with…

Pros
  • SWEAT GUIDE - Sweat Guide Pad design wicks moisture away from the browguard and goggles.
Cons
  • Low repairability

Feels good but looks a bit silly

Looks like a sleek helmet at first glance and I like the matte gray metallic; However, I already have a larger than average head and this helmet reminded me of the SNL cone head parodies, it doesn't feel big but it looks big. The padding is much thicker than the little brother Nomad and has more padding on the inside. The chin strap seems to be too long, but it's not an advantage. They adjust under the ears, which is nice as other companies go for fixation, one side fits best. The visor is…

By price. good but not great. Strange visor.

Upon unboxing you could immediately see that the visor and adjustment mechanism are a slightly darker red than the rest of the helmet - different material, different finish than the rest of the helmet. The color difference is easy to miss, but the visor placement is a bit odd - it's also permanently fixed and not adjustable in any way. Adjusting the helmet is as easy as turning a knob on the back. After installation, it is mechanically locked. The helmet is light and very comfortable. My key…
