Excellent technical support!

Although it was difficult to install on my own, I struggled with my understanding of Linux and even the operating systems themselves, not the product. The support never gave up and after about 10 emails back and forth he got in touch with a noob like me. Thank you for your support!

Pros
  • a handy item
Cons
  • Requires an outlet

Works well and as advertised after installation (Linux Ubuntu 18.x)

BrosTrend 1200 Wireless Adapter worked as advertised after installation. You have the option of plugging it into a USB port directly or via an optional docking station, giving some flexibility. The only problem was that the installation instructions in the box were only for Microsoft and iOS, not Linux. However, BrosTrend support responded within an hour with instructions on how to install the driver and everything went smoothly after that. Overall it provides good coverage for our three story…

It works with Raspberry Pi 4 (Raspian)

Plugged it in and followed the PDF manual on a small CD for it to work with. Technical support will be happy to help you. The product works very well, as well as my current router with a similar sized antenna. You can find a slightly cheaper adapter but it seems that the company backs this product and is very good with support and documentation. I could buy a cheap one to play with, but for distance learning or something important, why not buy a good one like this? EDIT1: This adapter seems to…

Works on Linux. Definitely on Manjaro/Arch.

I got this while working on Manjaro with kernel 5.8.7. Basically, if it works on every Linux distribution, it will work on all of them, but the package/installer may not work properly. I got it working without too much trouble, but first I accidentally tried to install the wrong driver and it didn't work until I installed the correct one. The BrosTrend 1200 that I received has an rtl88x2bu chipset. You can find out what chipset you have by plugging it in and running lsusb in a terminal…

Great Wi-Fi Adapter for Linux

This is a great Wi-Fi adapter if you are looking for Linux laptop, desktop or even Raspberry PI compatibility. Although there are no drivers for this device in the Linux kernel (meaning it will not work out of the box), the company's support team provides very clear instructions, and the driver installation process takes 5-10 minutes. The instructions use a script to install the required packages (the vendor provides a Debian package with the required source code and uses DKMS to compile the…

Works perfectly. Closed source drivers are easy to install.

The adapter works as I hoped. No hassle of connecting or using a script from their website to install the necessary software. Its antennas show far more neighborhood signals than my fingernail-sized 2.4GHz adapter, and it connects easily and securely to my own router. I found a way to adjust the base so the cable doesn't pull on it. Unfortunately, I also found that the signal interfered with opening the downstairs garage door, but I slightly blocked the signal by positioning it over the PC's…

Had to edit my review

I'm a big fan of a permanent wired connection. However, this is not always plausible. (In my case the router is upstairs in the kitchen while our computers are in the basement and running cables through walls is off my radar) Setup is easy. plug in and done. (for Windows 10) For Linux, you just need to contact support and they will answer almost immediately, install the package they send and you're done (I contacted them myself at almost 23:00 Moscow time and a Email received for 10 minutes)…

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Nothing here

I bought a Bros Trend 1200 for Linux. My intention was to turn an old, underperforming computer I had lying around into a hotspot to extend Wi-Fi to the bedrooms in my house. I currently have a Netgear 7000 in my family room on the ground floor. Fire Sticks connected to the TVs in these rooms operate at 15 Mbps and can drop to 7 Mbps when many other wireless networks are in use. I've tried several solutions from powerine adapters to extenders and repeaters with no success with a stronger or…

Multiple alarmists with great results

I started my first panic by ordering a product with only ONE review, which I almost never do. But this device offered what I needed, so I took a chance. And I'm very glad I did. The ethernet connection speed on my old PC (running KDE Neon 5.13.1) suddenly dropped from 6 Mbps to just over 1. Some tests showed that outdated hardware was the culprit. component on the motherboard. My second fear came when the device arrived. A very attractive packaging was a blister that could be opened with bare…

  • I don't like anything about it, everything is fine
