There weren't many reviews to check but I took a chance anyway because the set had everything I wanted - coarse filter, fine mesh filter, large funnel and a smaller one Funnel Screws into the larger funnel to accommodate smaller holes. All elements have to work together and they work. I no longer need 3 hands to hold the filter, funnel and container upright while pouring oil! The large funnel fits perfectly on wide-necked ball cans. A smaller funnel would have been worth the price in itself…

I bought this for the oil filter function and it does it exceptionally well. We use fryers a few times a week and strain about two gallons with each use. This filter catches dirt much better than conventional kitchen filters and thus extends the life of the oil. The small funnel supplied is particularly useful for this function as it allows the oil to be returned to the container it was in. I really like this set and I am 99% satisfied with it. All the parts work well together avoiding the more complicated setup for cold brew coffee. I highly recommend it to make cold coffee or similar purposes. I use a funnel/filter to decant and filter coarse, cold brew coffee. This setup for my application does a very good job of filtering coffee, although I'll add a final step to filter the results of that filtering through a 300 mesh cloth (400 mesh could be even better).
