I was looking for a tire to replace the original tires on my Trek Crossrip electric bike. I have driven 2800 miles with these original tires and had four flats in that time. I bought this tire instead of my usual continental alligator choice as this tire was a bit cheaper and had more tread which I felt would be good for rough/muddy roads. The finish on this tire isn't inferior to the venerable alligator skins, but it's certainly not bad and will most likely last a while. I'll start with the negatives first. And despite what I can say here, I still recommend tires for specific conditions and circumstances. First, not all Continental bicycle tires are made in Germany. These (at least my 700 X 28) were made in India. Second, like my previous kit from Continental (Contact II series), they are NOT 28mm wide; at best maybe 700 x 27 or even 700 x 26.5 if measured with a cheap micrometer.
