Nice design but poor execution

Nice design but poor execution. The pin is made of white metal and releases immediately when pressed. Already swapped one out so not quite sure.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • There are downsides

Easy to use and works well!

A little wobbly, but works! Very thankful that the sliding glass door has a child lock. It's high up so the baby can't reach it. It's nice and simple and also easy to use. I would recommend it.

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • So far so good

They break easily! - Exterior Doors

That's a great idea, but the internal threads that push the pin into the door break very easily. They are easy to install and keep the sliding door or window closed, but don't turn the knob too hard or it will break.

Pros
  • Heavy Duty
Cons
  • Gotcha

A little difficult to align

This lock is a very secure sliding glass door lock. I would like them to provide a template for drilling the firing pin hole. It was a little tricky to align when installed in the upper inner corner of the slider.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Minor issues

Great quality and does the job

I have used this on a patio door as an extra layer of protection to keep children out of that pool door (unless they can reach that height). I find the quality excellent. It takes an extra second to screw in, not snap into place, but I prefer this as I think it's more secure.

Pros
  • Multiple competitors
Cons
  • Compatibility

He's so broken. After installation

At the same time it was very easy to install and worked as promised for about a month or two. Soon the pin holding the bolt in the mechanism, preventing the bolt from rotating out of the lock, broke and the bolt fell out. Although the lock still worked, the bolt is now bent and unusable. Also, don't use this if your sliding door has a wooden frame. The bolt pierced the frame hard!

Pros
  • a handy thing
Cons
  • Not bad

Good but may not last

I bought two of these for sliding doors. The trick to installation is to create as little slack as possible when the door is locked. If you leave too much slack and start rocking the door back and forth to try and pick the lock, it may fail. One of my locks lost the pin that holds the deadbolt together. I had to take it off the door, twist it and secure it with a small screw instead of a pin to hold the latch. It works but turning the knob is a little hard. I don't know if I would buy them…

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Out of fashion

A simple and inexpensive lock for a slider.

A simple and inexpensive additional security for a sliding patio door on the outside (because the wooden stop didn't work). It's nice that you can install it in as many positions as you like. I chose the head next to the fixed platen for strength and convenience (I didn't want us having to bend down to operate it). I like that it rotates (about 1-1/2 or 2 full turns) to lock/unlock and stays where it's set. The instructions are clear; Just be sure to tighten it enough so that the thin part of…

Pros
  • Confidence inspiring
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors

Excellent patio lock

This good value patio lock is perfect for my patio door. I'm looking at a whole range of other patio door locks that are expensive but don't fit my door and even buy a Deerfield sliding glass door lock (aluminum frame - white) which I find unreliable and can rattle and wobble. door and it gets weaker. I thought someone had hacked my high security front door locks, but it looks like they hacked the Deerfield patio lock instead. This lock is cheap and works like a charm. I could get this at my…
