Description of DIY Sliding Barn Wood Door Kit - Pre-Drilled And Ready To Assemble - Natural Solid Spruce Wood - Interior Single Door - Fit 4FT Rail

NATURAL SPRUCE WOOD: Spruce wood surface texture is beautiful, the surface of the wood has a glossy feeling. It is good material with a delicate texture and natural fragrance, not easy to be rotten, but also has good toughness, flexibility, durability, sound insulation, heat insulation, and deodorization. Glue and paint coloring performance is good, not split when nailing. PURCHASE NOTES (GAPS ISSUE):The material of the door is natural wood, in order to prevent the wood from decaying during transportation, the wood is fumigated before shipment, so there will be small GAPS between the boards after the door is installed. But after a period of usage, the natural wood board absorbs the moisture in the air and the board slowly expands. If there is no gap at the beginning of the installation, the expansion of the wood will cause the door to crack. DIMENSION: Width: 24", Height: 84", Thickness: 1 3/8", Solid core thick: 1/2". Door can be flipped in either direction. The bottom of the door had been a pre-made groove for the floor guide. / WEIGHT: 37.5lbs. (PACKAGE INCLUDED: All screws included along with pre-drilled screw holes wood panels and detailed instruction ensuring ease of assembly. (Sliding Door Hardware is not Included). EASY INSTALLATION: The barn door is pre-drilled and ready for installation. All wood panels are mitered for a snug fit. It makes it easy for construction and a vertical panel style wood barn door. The tools you need are screwdriver and hammer. DIY YOUR HOUSE: The SmartStandard solid wood barn door is a perfect match with your bedroom, dressing room, kitchen and locker room. You can also paint it in different colors you want to suit your home decor. Versatile Style!

I loved and hated some things about this experience

Originally I went to Home Depot and found out the wait on a door about $160 similar would be a whole month, husband and I decided against the Home Depot door. We saw the prime and the estimated ship date on this amazon door and thought "great! We are in a hurry to sell our house” well. I know this is on behalf of the shipment side, but it got here about a week and a half later than it was originally supposed to arrive and it was not on back order. When it arrived this morning, excited I ran out…

Pros
  • Some of the boards were warped
Cons
  • Natural wood may warp or crack over time

Good value when compared to other options

The pros:The kit came well packed. The instructions are clear and the assembly is pretty straight forward. The cons:The wood is very basic quality. When assembly is complete the slats have some movement and I had to insert some nails to hold the ends in place. I also had to caulk and paint the gaps at the end.Proposed improvement: Adding a foam in the vertical grooves of the frame would push the slats to the center closing the gap and prevent movement.

Pros
  • ‎No
Cons
  • May not match the decor of all homes

Happy with the door, even with MY mistakes!

Likes:- easy to assemble- stains well- not too heavy, I’m 5’3 and not super buff, I was able to move it around, assemble myself, not a big deal.Dislikes:- are all centered on this being my first door I’ve put together! It’s not the doors fault! So I’ll make this about things I would have done differently.- get a longer shaft for my power drill so I could get the screws in better. I made my little philips head stub work, but it took extending it as much as possible and pushing really hard.- I…

Please read my entire review.I gave these a 5 but.

I bought 3 of these. 2)36" and 1) 42". Had I only purchased the 2)36's I would be telling you this was the EASIEST "Assembly required" item I had ever done. They are well cut and extremely easy to assemble. But the 42" gave me a lot of grief. There seemed to be a little humidity that caused a SMALL amount of warping. But that made assembly much more difficult. I was lucky that I own some cheap, but long, clamps (Harbor Freight $20) And that made all the difference. I assembled the two 36 in…

Pros
  • Pre-drilled for convenience

IVE SEEN REVIEWS ABOUT ISSUE WITH STICKERS MINE DID NOT COME THAT WAY PARTS WERE STAMPED ON THE BOTTOM OR LOCATIONS U WONT SEE. QUICK AND EASY TO ASSEMBLE. I ALSO SEEN PEOPLE SAYING GAPS IN DOOR FALSE! U NEED TO ASSEMBLE IT RIGHT. THE PANELS SLIDE IF NOT POSITIONED PROPERLY. VERY EASY TO PUT TOGETHER. HOW EVER MOUNTING AND HANGING…

Nice quality and very easy to put together

The title of this review says it all. Very good quality. The pieces fit together well with no issues and the wood seemed to be a nice quality; so good in fact, that once we put the doors up, we decided to leave them unfinished! The instructions were easy to understand also.

Pros
  • EASY INSTALLATION: The barn door is pre-drilled and ready for installation. All wood panels are mitered for a snug fit. It makes it easy for construction and a vertical panel style wood barn door. The tools you need are screwdriver and hammer.
Cons
  • May not be able to support heavy items hung on the door

Good for the price in my review

I had a hard time getting certain stain to take to the wood but found one that took nicely after a few trials. It was very easy to put together but now that it has settled there are small gaps in between some of the panels. Because I stained it is hard to slide them Back to close the gaps. So I have to be aware if my son has used the door and let it slam the panels are going to adjust. I would not use this door on a room you need privacy in. I have it in my office, and for the price it was a…

Heavy PINE: my feedback

Instructions are great but the stickers leave a sticky residue. It comes with everything you need. The missing stars, I have the SmartStandard track purchased separately. In the instructions of the track it stated to make the holes at about 2 inches below the top edge of the door. The issue is that the door has 2 longgggg screws that come in on the side of the top panel (pre drilled) and the mounting brackets hole per the instructions hit the screws. Secondly, since these are machine made a lot…

Pros
  • Enhances the aesthetic of a farmhouse or cottage-style home

Warped beyond repair after only 4 months

As touted, it was easy to finish, stain, and assemble. the instructions made it fairly simple to hang. BUT . after 4 months hanging in our bedroom, one of the pair warped so badly that we couldn't pull the warpage out, even after trying several woodworker's tricks. I pulled both doors down and made new ones from scratch from pine, with no problems.

after a few months doors warped and panels moved

The doors look nice. I stained them and clear coated. The issue is after a few months the doors warped and the panels moved. This caused the bottom door cut out for floor slide not to work with the floor slide included with the door. I needed to re-stain the panels since they moved and it exposed some unfinished wood. I also had to buy roller floor guides that don't use the guide in the bottom of the door since door had warped too much for the slide to work any longer. After I fixed the issues…

Needs improvement on instructions

Some wood pieces arrived warped. Instructions need improvement. It should have pilot holes for the side screws. The instructions say to assemble without screws but if you do then the door wobbles and you will never get the slats in. The better way is to drill a pilot hole on one side, screw in the side slat so that it doesn’t move, then assemble. Also there were foam strips on the inside of both slat channels and the instructions did not say to keep them or discard them. It is a rustic look…

Warped. Update. in my review

I bought 2 of these and they’re both warped to the point of looking stupid and not functioning properly. They’re cute otherwise. But I can’t recommend. I’ve asked Best Buy for replacements, but I don’t have a lot of hope.Update: Best Buy came through and sent me 2 replacements. So far one of them is working fine, I think the other will be ok, haven’t installed yet. I’ll improve my rating, but it was a lot of wasted work, contractor time, my time. what I wonder is if they will warp in the…

Cons
  • May not block out sound as effectively as a solid door

The verticle slats are 3/8 " too short.

I was really starting to enjoy putting this together. The instructions are lousy. When you drop the C1 slat, it fits into the groove of the 84" long board, you then slide subsequent C2 slats on top of each other. When you top it off with the C3 slat the result should be that the boards are 3/8" above where the other 84" board closes it up to make the complete door. What actually happens is, that the boards are flush with the (3) 48" boards so that the Top board that is suppose to lock everything

Pros
  • Easy to install with included hardware
Cons
  • May require additional finishing to match existing decor

Solid. Looks great.

Overall I'm very impressed. Directions were easy to follow. Everything was labeled. Assembly was pretty easy. Nice quality wood. Very soft though so be gentle with it. Packaged very well. Only issue is with the diagonal pieces that go across the door. They're not quite long enough to run corner to corner so the sit in from each side a little. See picture. Not the end of the world and maybe that's the design, but it looks like the go corner to corner in the picture. I considered leaving them off

Pros
  • Made from natural, high-quality solid spruce wood
Cons
  • May be too rustic for some home styles

Looks good but subpar quality.

We were looking for a barn door at the big box stores, then decided to check here on Best Buy. Well we found this door and, better yet, it came with all the hardware. I was actually surprised by the quality of the hardware; I expected cheap screws, nuts and bolts but some of the hardware is even grade 10.9! And the black color really makes them look good (although easy to scratch with a wrench or socket if not careful). As soon as I started to put the door pieces together I realized why the box…

Pros
  • ‎Natural
Cons
  • May not offer the same level of security as a solid door

Just An ok door - my new review

The doors ended up ok but the pieces are not all stamped very clearly to know where the pieces go. Took a bit to finish and it is hard to stain in the corners. This was the only affordable one so we were willing to work at it a bit. Once done and hung they look nice. Would never do double barn doors again though.

Pros
  • ‎SMARTSTANDARD
Cons
  • May not be as easy to clean as other door materials

Made well! on my review.

This door is excellent quality. It looks so good and it’s worth every penny. The door has to be put together and stained. That takes time but it was totally worth it.

Pros
  • Putting together was simple. Chose to stain in the color briarsmoke and they came out gorgeous!
Cons
  • Instructions may be difficult to follow for those unfamiliar with DIY projects

Great door - need help with a part I misplaced

So I put 5 doors together six months ago. I am very excited as the doors are very good looking. Our contractor is installing them next week and I can not find the wooden plugs to finish them off. 10 X per door. Is it possible for me to purchase 50 or you can send as replacement ? I really appreciate it. Brian

Pros
  • Adds value to a property
Cons
  • May require additional support for larger door sizes
